Meh, some people like to moan and whine about them, or point out valid criticisms624 said:Who cares, its entertainment. The only success is if someone watched it. Why do people disscus this so much?
Thank god I'm not the only one!MaxTheReaper said:Probably, but as I've said numerous times, we shouldn't cater to the lowest common denominator.Doug said:Same here.MaxTheReaper said:Well, I personally thought both were quite hilarious.

Although I gather there was alot of loud mouth whining on the comment thread about 'OMG it shouldn't have happened!!!!111!' - probably spelt worse.
EDIT: Not criticising people who didn't like it in general, but the ones who just cry blue murder whenever any little thing changes. You know the ones - the ones who moaned and bitched and whined when Yahtzee got the standard intro, and made out it was somehow the death of the Universe.
Hence my hatred of reality TV.
You, sir, are the reason I replied like this in the first place:TenthRegeneration said:*sigh*

This is something that I've been meaning to address for awhile. The crossover was what finally made me sit down and write the following:
When Unskippible first came out, I was willing to give it a chance...and another chance...and another...but now, I think I've seen enough. To the makers of Unskippible: Give it a rest, guys. You gave it your best, but it's not really good enough. Even the power of Yahtzee couldn't make your video appealling in the way that the style needs. Let's address some facts. I know we all saw Mystery Science Theater 3000, and a few of you know of their recent work on Rifftrax, but hey, let's face it, it takes a lot to be able to pull off that kind of riffing goodness, and I'm not really feeling it, guys. MST3K worked because it had a certain charm that no one has ever been able to mimic (except for once, and that was when Mike took over from Joel). The riffing in that show was drop dead funny about 90% of the time, and that was due to many factors (seperate character voices, comic timing, clever dialouge, a large writing staff, the comic stylings of one Tom Servo, etc.), which I don't think Unskippible has, or ever will have. When Yahtzee came in and started riffing with the regular cast, it was almost non-stop talking. Guys, I know you're happy to have Yahtzee with you, but come on. Pop an episode of MST3K (I suggest the following: Pod People, Space Mutany, Santa Clause conquores (sp?) the Martians, Prince of Space) and give it a listen. Do you hear the pauses? The cast lets the movie make fun of itself, and then they help it along. Not every line spoken needs a half hearted riff taped half hearted to the end of it. Pace yourselves. I could go on, but I won't beat a dead horse. I'll leave Unskippible with this: Guys: become more than just another one of the thousands of MST3K/RiffTrax clones on the internet, and then you might have something. The fact that you're doing it with video games is neither clever nor original.
So as long as people like you keep WATCHING Unskippable so you can point out all the flaws in it in the comments underneath the video - or making rants in threads like these - you are not doing your cause any good. All you are doing is adding to the amount of people who WATCH or MENTION Unskippable, which then tells the Escapist that more people are watching or talking about it regardless of their like/dislike of it, and that's what makes money. So they continue to give the LRR guys money/an audience which then encourages the LRR guys to make more Unskippable.McClaud said:What I think is funny is that people who are critical of Unskippable (that is, don't like it) keep commenting on the Unskippable episodes to state their displeasure.
Let me put it siccinctly -
If you don't like Unskippable, don't comment on every freaking episode. Because you elevate the interest in the series, which is totally counter-productive to your thinking. The more interest you bring to Unskippable, the more the Escapist thinks that there are people who are watching it (because, technically speaking, that's true), so they cut a check to the LRR people.
Your general assumption that I am unaware of the system set up for registaring popularity of said videos displeases me. This is the first time I have ever mentioned or commmented on any episode of Unskippable. I do not watch it, and do not commment on it. If I may use a metaphor, Unskippable is a hot stove, and unlike most critics of the series, I am wise enough not to touch said stove after I have been burned. Indeed if I did watch it often and give negative comments, then it would be most counter-productive.McClaud said:So stop ranting. If you don't like it, don't watch and don't comment. Otherwise, every mention and hit that the name Unskippable gets on the Escapist just keeps it going. Which is COUNTER to your rants.
