8456 and IJKL I've used in the past, but this was Tandy 2000 days and two or three people had to use the same keyboard to control your doodz.
8465? Wot? How would that even work?
Look to your numpad, retyopy, the answer will occur to you =)

OT: I'm a WASD user meself. Some day I might try ESDF but, arrows are right out unless it's a keyboard-only game.

What about ESDF?

I use the arrow keys normally, and WASD for anything that has a hotbar that is longer than 6.
ESDF? Eh, I've never seen it done, but it feels sort of awkward, just trying it out.

Some Wow players do it to have more "easy to reach" Buttons to macro

I hate when a game doesn't let you use this. Closer to any hot keys, and right hand on the mouse. I'm just too used to it to give it up.

ohhhh... Still doesn't work, since my laptop doesn't have a num pad, but I get it.

Being left handed, it's ironic but I use my right hand to move the mouse. If I'm playing a game that involves using the mouse and keyboard for controls (see the recent Fallout games and other FPS games), I'll use WASD. However, if I'm playing on something that doesn't require a mouse (say, an emulator) AND my joypad has gone walkies, I'll use the arrow keys and set ASDF or so for control buttons

My right arrow key is broken, and I'm missing my S key...... gonna go with neither.

WASD FTW!!!

Hell, that's the first thing I check in the game's controls.

Well, except in racing and flight sims. Then I need my arrows.

Yes, it was slightly awkward, but I'm willing to forgive you as we share common awesomeness!

Also, what's your avatar from?

Oh good, was worried there =)

It's from Mass Effect 2; during Thane's loyalty mission you can apparently see this fellah dance his little socks off.[footnote]Do turians wear socks? This will bother me the rest of the week now >.<[/footnote]

I used to use arrow keys...a LONG time ago, but I use WASD now.
I just feels...kind of awkward to have my left hand near the arrow keys now.

I am, too.

But on laptops, I tend to use my left hand for the track pad and the right for the arrow keys. I just remap the hotkeys to the bottom alphabetical row.

I'm a weird lefty though- all my fine motor skills tasks are done with my left hand, but I do tasks like opening doors or carrying things with my right. My mother's physical therapist was very confused when he saw I was right handed because my stance indicated I was right handed.

I do the same thing with laptops.

I'm also the same in the regard to hands. I write with my left hand, but pretty much everything else (don't be rude...) is done with my right hand. Using scissors, carrying bags, etc.

hell, my dad asked my sister the other day if I'm really left handed (just because my handwriting is terrible :p)

wasd, You'd be insane to remap every control for every game you ever buy.

You'd also be insane to use a left handed mouse but golly some people do. (I'm left handed)

Arrow keys whenever possible. Gives me quick access to 30 keys, assuming the game in question recognizes keypad strokes, ctrl and shift strokes as individual keys.
Also, my right hand is on the mouse, I just slide my keyboard over... my keyboard occupies a cleared space that's about twice its width.

**edit** justification: I demand absolute precision. W in WASD is not up, it's up-left. Hence, when using WASD, I often hit W and E simultaneously when attempting to hit up. Letter keys are not designed for gaming on most keyboards. Arrow keys always were.
Plus, realistically with WASD, one has access to maybe 20 keys with their left hand... and that's with quite a bit of stretching.
