Poll: WASD or Arrow Keys?

It has been several years since i used the arrow keys. But I still remember the fact that I eventually did.

Left handed, arrow keys + numpad till the day I die. I use that setup for absolutely everything, hasn't failed me so far. Tried WASD several times, but it just doesn't feel good.

ESDF? Eh, I've never seen it done, but it feels sort of awkward, just trying it out.

Yeah, it kinda is awkward in the beginning, but once you get used to it, damn! I use WASD normally though, but back in my raiding days before I quit WoW I used ESDF because of how much easier it is to hit the keys further to the right, and you "gain" keys on your left side.

WASD + Mouse = symmetry. Balance between left side and right side
Arrow keys cramp up one side or force you to move the keyboard, not very efficient when you have a small desk space.

I used ESDF until WSAD became the norm...
ESDF was used in Tribes (twice the pinky hot-keys)

EDIT: I use Arrow keys for games like "I Wanna Be The Guy!" though

Left Handed but I use WASD and a right handed mouse setup. For balance I switch to a left handed mouse setup with reversed buttons at work. Annoys the hell out of the IT department!

But yeah, WASD.

I know of one person who uses a completely different setup though, and maps the forward and back buttons to Mouse 1 and Mouse 2. Strafing keys are "Z" and "X" I think. I've not been bold enough to try this system to see if I like it. One reason though, is that not all games, even today, will let you map Mouse 1 and 2 to movement, and if you get too used to that system then you are screwed for these games. I think Dead Space is one.

Since I got my non-adventure-gaming start with FFXI, I prefer the numpad to anything else.

Use the first three fingers of my right hand to hit 4, 8, 6, and 2 to move, 7 to toggle run/walk, and my thumb to control the camera with the arrow keys.

FFXI is the only game I can think of with this control scheme, but I'm a big fan.

WASD just because it means the rest of the useful keys are around it - R for reload etc. Q for that one key you don't -really- need but it's there just in-case.
