I pirate everything I possibly can.
The main reason being - I do not want to pay.

Everybody ready for some math?
Developing a quality product takes money. When you pirate, you reduce the amount of money a developer has at its disposal. Therefore, when you pirate, you reduce the quality of the very products you are willing to sell your integrity to obtain.

Incidentally, anybody try to play Broken Steel on the 5th? Turns out piracy *isn't* a victimless crime.

Bit of both, I only buy a game if it's *really* worth buying. I'll be damned before I buy a game like Red Alert 3 or Tiberium Wars which I complete on easy difficulty once and then leave to rot.

I don't download games but I do for movies, I would rather support the companies that make the products but sometimes I just wanna watch a free movie.

after I've bought some songs from iTunes I go out to hold up old style carridges, highwayman style.
I did thart a bit as well i even got one of those highwayman hats i looked proper awesome as my victims agreed just remember to be charming and for some reason they don`t mind that much, oh and to make your entrance by swinging off something, Rapier on hand :)
Ah, see I differ in style, I wear the hat, i mean that's a required feature in the highwayman code, but how I make my entrance is on horse back, flintlock pistol at the ready, and I only plunder carridges containing rich, buxom ladies.
It tends to pay off better when the charm is imployed.
I see well it helps that there`s a bit of professional diversity i guess :)

I think I'm gonna hang up my eye patch and pegleg for now...

I used to pirate music and really (REALLY) old video games, and nothing else.
But as I said, I think I'm done for now.

Nobody is stealing anything, they're COPYING stuff. Besides, the people that purely download weren't going to buy it in the first place, so it actually doesn't hurt sales.
I wouldn't quite say that.
I definitley would have (if I could) bought Fallouts 1 and 2, and System Shock 2 if there wasn't an easier method. If

But the reason why I download, is becasue the other option is so rediculous (I mean no one is going to sell those games in stores anymore). If I could easily get a hold of these games legally, and cheaply I definitley would buy them.
(Steam maybe? I dunno)

I both download and buy games. But people will still say there is no justification for doing such an oh-so horrible thing! *sarcasm*
But either way I don't care. My morals abandoned me when I learned that life isn't all sunshine and lollipops, and that humanity is downright retarded.

I'd like to hear your thoughts whilst I stoke my DVD box sets.
Can you stroke downloads? No.
This is the exact reason why I would much rather buy games and could never trade something in or sell it.
But it all comes down to money, which many people cannot simply just throw away.

It's either buy or ignore for me. If you don't want my money, fine. I'll keep it and spend it on something else. Besides, the way the electronic gaming industry is going, I doubt I will even be playing at all soon.

Also, why does everyone love Valve so much? They seem to be just as big of jerks as any other megacorp nowadays.

Bullshit on the "I just download to see if its awesome" front.
It's true! Well, for me at least..
I disdain a lot of todays music, then I hear something on the radio at work, think it sounds alright, then realise the rest of the album's horrible..
After that, i'll go running back to my Dire Straits and Pink Floyd records to purge my ears of the horror that was my foray into modern music..

Not sure about how other people deal with this, though..

I pirate games, but I only pirate them unless they're about 10 years old. Interplay was long dead and gone by the time I torrented the original Fallout.
