For the most part, whiskey, but my all-time favorite alcoholic beverage is The Kraken Rum.It's a black spiced rum that is 94 proof, but so smooth you couldn't tell.

Most often I drink beer. Once in a while I'll order a Long Drink for variation though. I don't know how common Long Drinks are internationally (or if any of you actually know what those things are) though.

The kind that's in food. Nothing better than a delicious trifle that gets you buzzed at the same time.

I'm not a big drinker.

Used to brew Russian style Imperial Stout back in Alaska. Miss those days. Content myself with scotch whiskey now; Glenlivet.
Mmmmm... Russian Imperial stout...
My preference would go like this:
1) Stouts
2) Lagers
3) Gin+Tonic
4) Pepper Vodka (Перцовка)

My favourite drink is Ouzo and Coke.

Favourite shot is 4/5 Jagermeister mixed with 1/5 Creme de Menthe.

So 'other' for me.

Whiskey, single malt scotch or plain old Jack Daniels.

I also love cognac, but that's an acquired taste
Its only an acquired taste cause you have to acquire the cognac, and the good stuff isn't cheap.

But vodka is king. Cheap stuff tastes like crap but gets the job done, while the higher end stuff tastes like nothing but kick.

Jagermeister is good if you like licorice and some wines are good.

Not too big of a fan of whiskey, but I have only tried plain jack which was ok and jameson... fuckin paint thinner...

Gin, pretty much only gin. Oh, I like other alcohol, and beer can be nice, but gin is king. Alcohol is not supposed to be sweet, and I generally don't like sweet drinks.

Also, apfelwein (butchering the German I know) that I had when I was in Frankfurt. Was quite good and I would have liked to have taken home some.

Like Bob said, "herb for my wine, honey for my strong drink, take it easy"

Beyond that I dont mind a nice scotch otr or whiskey, and a beer or 2

At a party tequila or whiskey is good.
On my own vodka is good, it mixes well with most stuff.
A cheaper option is beer. Guinness or Heineken. I've grown fond of Samuel Adam's Oktoberfest.

Woodchuck Amber FTW

I drink Dessert Wines, I'm that much of a finicky sissy when it comes to alcohol, though I've tried anything that comes my way, I don't do it to get drunk, never have, and never intend to, I do it for the texture and boquet.

I like ciders as well, though no Strongbow for me.

Beer tastes like stale mountain dew and shots taste like cough syrup or nyquil.

Not enjoyable.

Man... oh man...

Around here we use to say :
"It's not what you drink, when and how. It's WHO you drink with".

P.S.
Strong beer. Nothing below 6%s.

Dark beer, preferably from a micro brewery. If I can't get that, a good ol' pint o' Guinness always quenches my thirst.

Which alcohol do you prefer drinking in general? I prefer vodka. It tatses like shit but I hate the PROCESS of drinking, but the effect is awesome.
Vodka can taste pretty good if you buy decent vodka. Just don't buy the cheap shit, it tastes like drinking jet fuel. Actually, that's a good rule of thumb for all alcohols, really. The cheaper it is, the nastier it's likely to taste. Buy good stuff and you really can drink for the taste.
Is the effect still awesome the next morning? Enquiring minds want to know.

With statements like that, you sound pretty young. Don't get into the habit of getting wasted every time you have a drink - it's a lot harder to stop drinking hard like that after you've been doing it a few years, and eventually it will kill you. Spend a bit extra and get good-tasting alcohol, learn to savour it and drink for the taste, and enjoy getting mildly tipsy occasionally without getting wasted. You will enjoy it a lot more in the long run.

I usually go for bitter and try to avoid lager, for it is the alcohol of little boys.

As far as other drinks go, I can put away straight vodka like it's water. I enjoy a good, cloudy cider, the likes of which I usually bring back home from Cornwall by the barrel. And Captain Morgan's spiced rum is the bane of my drinking existence. It's the only drink to cause me to lose consciousness.

And start smoking cigars with your drink as well (or vice versa), make sure not to inhale, and you'll have that dangerous thing that's not all that dangerous plus your alcohol and a combination of a boquet of flavors and things to savor.

(INQUIRE... btw).
