The egg hatched what we call the chicken after generations of evolution.

Also for a side note, who has said that the egg has to be that of a chicken? If that's the case, definitely egg as they've been around for billions of years.

The egg came first. Under normal conditions, no living being mutates while it is living. Also, eggs were around long before there were chickens.

And...ninja'd on Point 2.

Since this is a ridiculous question that I really don't want to wrap my head around right now, I'll respond with an even more ridiculous answer.

The Great Flying Spaghetti Monster plucked forth from his saucy heaven both a chicken and an egg. After not being able to decide between an omelet or nuggets, he unceremoniously threw the chicken and egg over His Great Meatbally Shoulder. The chicken and the egg both landed on Earth at exactly the same time, thus this argument is moot because they were here together all along.

Depends on where you're coming from. Evolutionism: Egg. Creationism: Chicken. Surrealism: Zebra.

Welcome to HELL...or The Escapist.

Liked the picture as well.

OT: I'm gonna say egg. How else would chickens have been here?

Well i have checked with the Intelligent designer and she says the T-Rex came first.

Also this thread is pointless.
With all of the threads you seem to make the first post claiming pointlessness, the number of posts you have comes with no surprise. Not that you're wrong every time, but Jesus you must have a compulsion problem or something.

OT: Time for me to be a big philosophical prick and say that the question is a metaphor pertaining to the metaphysical question of mind (chicken) over matter (egg), questioning the importance of objectivity and subjectivity, our mind compared to the world we can't be sure exists outside of our senses etc.

Egg, because the basis of all subjectivity requires the precedent of the objective.

Absolutely. And it only paves the way for flaming.

Well what we know as a chicken would have been a slightly mutated form of a previous form of 'chicken' (not an actual chicken but the closest step back evolution-wise). There3fore its egg would have been there first.

Egg...
Because even dinosaurs layed eggs, and from some of these dino´s the chicken evolved, so the egg came first.

This thread is over!

I thought everyone had figured out by now that the egg came first, as it would be the first chicken born to parents that closely resembled chickens. It would have whatever mutations that make it a chicken that its parent chicken did not have.

The chicken, because A lone egg would just die. Try and remember, eggs do need to be heated. Case closed.

I petition a 'WHO CARES' option for this pole.

Because I don't care...
