the healer for sure, i like to feel like im depended on in a party... plus im near impossible to kill in open combat

I don't play MMORPG's, but in RPG's: basically always The Fighter. Maybe even more a rogue type (yet not big on going "invisible"), after that I'm a ranger, and as a last resort a healer and in the very last option a mage. I haven't got into healing or magic, but a little in the last couple years.

I chose other because I like to mix it up. It also depends on the universe. Typicaly however I will go for the fighter type or the mage type.
Mesmer. The disruptor, controller, metamagician, and illusionist.
Who needs armor or healing when nobody around you can do anything against you (or your team)?
Oh, look! a big offensive Spellcaster, whatcha got there Meteors? *snap* What? where'd your spell go? That mana burn looks like it hurt.
And what about you, Mr./Ms. Healer? you've got such an important job, protecting your teammates... *snap* now your mana's gone.
Good luck casting heal spells now, sucker!
Oh look, the big Tank's gonna hit me with a sword. *snap* now you're blind. *snap again* how does that crippling pain feel?
That heavy armor's not helping much, is it?
And don't think I don't see you up there in the tree, Archer. What would happen if you suddenly weren't so *snap* lithe.

I always play a healer. Not much of an MMORPG'er, but when I do play, I choose an unpopular and underplayed class just to make myself useful.
I like hitting stuff with blunt objects, so I'll go with the fighter/warrior.
It's all about honor and glory really. Damn pussy mages and rangers go hitting you from afar because they're to scared or cowardly to come up in your face. Damn rogues prefer to backstab you and hit below the belt. Real honor is in facing your foes, and dispatching of them on equal terms, face to face.
A real man knows he should take a few punches in order to grant his oppnent an honorable defeat, and you can't do that when you're stunlocking and backstabbing him, or flinging shiny sparkles at em from a distance. Where's your sense of honor and glory people?

The ranger. I don't like getting hit, I like staying away from my enemies, and I like being sneaky.
Wizard it is. Intelligence is one of, like, two DnD stats I don't have a penalty in. I get to wear the only thing resembling comfortable clothing, I get to fight at a distance, people default to protecting me and when I actually start leveling up, I get so many powerful options I more or less decide every morning when I wake up "What variety of unstoppable Apocalypse shall I unleash on my hapless foes today".
Hm, playing a MMO that doesn't actually have swords but is set in space I think at the moment I'm most like a Healer which I got to say gets really boring espeically during a war where you can be sat 'healing' or repairing people for hours.
If I was to play a traditional MMO I'd probably choose a Ranger or a Mage, subtlety is a gift.
