Magic Knight.

Nothing better than slicing something into bits before you blow it up with a fireball.

The only game I've seen that does this class well was Kingdoms of Amalur sadly.

A spellranger, if applicable. If the bolts doesn't kill them, the ice shards will.

All so I can admire Elven early Mithril age engravings by torchlight in peace.

Spellblade. I like to steal stuff and pick locks on treasure chests, then I top it off with giant magic spells on my enemies.

Stealth-fighter-assassin-with-supplemental-magic.

Sadly not an option on the poll!

Although if anyone's read the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks, I basically end up playing that type of character (despite only having read the books a month ago :p )

Mage, for sure. Swords and physical weapons are messy. Magic keeps all that blood far away from me and my pretty robes :3

Absolutely a Magi-Knight for me. I love playing as a Mage character, but often magicka cool downs make you really vulnerable, so having a warrior hybrid gets the best of both.

Although I'm not sure most people would count me as a Magi-Knight since I only use light armour for moving about and just keep a sword in one hand. Does that count?

I'd say it does. Pure mages use staffs (or in some cases specially enchanted daggers or swords, but those are generally only used for a boost in channeling their magic, not really for stabbing people :p) and wear robes. They certainly don't wear armor, to say the least, as it slows down their casting (in most games, that is).

Spellblade with a thief bias, totally. Though stealth is lower on my list of priorities than finesse and elegance.

If I'm tasked with stealing something from a shmancy party, I'm not going to sneak in through the balcony window, I'll walk in through the front door, blend in, etc.

Well except for that embassy mission in Hitman 2. Never managed to get Silent Assassin via the front door route.

I tend to be a thief primarily because that class is quite frequently associated with Charisma. Above anything, Charisma is the attribute I shoot to be the highest. It's always easier to talk yourself out of a fight than wasting time, health potions, and that one arm you forgot you needed, as it is ripped off by an ogre.

Hahaha...silly little Rogue. See, us Mages can blow shit up before it even touches us.

Oh whats that? You're in range? Lemme teleport.

Now I freeze you in place and laugh.

Hahahahaha.

Oh you're an assassin and you think your gonna come from behind and kill me?
Arcane shields and magical armors kinda sorta preventing that.

Oh your some big tanky combative fighter wearing a shit ton of armor?
Let me superheat you with fireballs. Enjoy the self-inserted bronze bull baking coffin! Anyone besides me wanting some delicious fried metal idiot?

What's that? Arrows heading towards my face?
Let me stop time for a second and dodge.

Mages. Win. Everything. :)

Mage. The Arcane has always interested me, in pretty much every game or RPG system I've played. It also allows you more diversity then Thief or Fighter.

Fighter.
Which fighter specifically? Berserker. Gotta love that going all out on anyone who stands in your way, and just let the Mage or Bard do the talking if needed. I mean, that's what they're there for.

Why'd I want to kill you? You'll just notice your money pouch is gone when I'm around the corner, is all. That is, after we've had a pleasant chat and a drink in one of the local watering holes. Sheesh.

Mages. Win. Everything. :)
Oh, they do...when they're the current FOTM.

SHEEP SMASH! PUNY WIZARDS WITH SQUISHY BRAINS GO SPLAT! SNEAKY THIEFY PEOPLE TRY TO TAKE SHEEP'S SHINY THINGS AND THEY HANDS GO SLICE!
*ahem*
What I meant to say is that I gravitate towards the warrior class more often than not. I like the direct approach, I have an appreciation for weapons, smashing things and tanking.

Magic is nice, yes, but I always find my wizards too squishy as I always build a "power" type character and thus ignore good healing spells and such.
Rogue characters I just find boring. In some games they're way too overpowered (Elder Scrolls, Fallout) and in other games they take too much work to play perfectly.

SMASH! CRUSH! EXPLOSIONS!

Typically a rogue and warrior mix. Since most games lean towards boring and moronic spell systems, I largely ignore magic.

In Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Dragon's Dogma I really liked the hybrid Rogue/Mage builds..

The Magick Archer in Dragon's Dogma is a really versatile character, both short-range and long. Generally I don't like pure Mages because they are kind of screwed in close combat.

Warrior/Mage hybrids always seem to be too bulky to pull off. Leather armor seems like enough to move around in and doesn't hinder spell casting.

Magi blade. I like the high health and melee power of fighters and the capability to get in the action and get out without issue but at the same time, I see lost opportunity to set up powerful spells with each slash and step creating runes and traps as you move through and a teleport also allows for mix up and luring.

Magiblades combine the impact of a fighter with the intelligence of a mage
