I am mostly sneaky thief but you know you kinda need a backup strategy. So I do take up some magic just at the side. Conjuring things to keep the attention away from me.
And of course magic has a few things that help you hide. Healing helps to.. just saying the obvious.
So I take up the path of mostly the thief with a bit of magic assistance. And remember a thief is allowed to run for its life
Sometimes it is better to run away and hide and survive then to end up like lovely rusting red paint.
Ah the joys of crawling through dungeons largely unnoticed until to late by the happless creatures with it. And if all fails RUN! Run and Hide. Actually in oblivion I used summons to thin the herd. If there are to many enemies in an area guess what.. I send out some friends to play.
For a rogue in the end it is about winning, about getting out alive with your bags with loot.
Adding that little bit of magic makes things allot easier.
