I'm tryin to decide whether to get Farcry 2 on PS3 or 360?
Wondering which seems to be the most popular, or if one version is said to run better than the other?
So.. What platform did you get Farcry 2 and why?

I chose PC because it has the best graphics and best control scheme.

Oh man, this game is really fun too :D
Oh definitely. Have you tried making a huge tower in the map editor and driving a jeep off of it? They actually bounce. a lot. And you know what? It is freaking awesome.

I chose PS3 by the way.(because I have a mac and no 360)(and because I like the PS3 best) =P

I have not bought this game. I just bought Fable II, I'm going to get Fallout 3 and since my friends got me addicted to WoW, I've just GOT to have the new expansion in a month. If I somehow run out of shit to do between these three very large games, I'll pick up Far Cry 2... it it's not March by then and RE5 is coming out. I've heard this game is like an open-world African savannah... is this correct?

P.S. if I buy it, I will most likely get it on PC.

-and the PC version actually has a quicksave ability. I'm still baffled that the console versions need save points. That just sounds extremely tedious to me - this game is way too huge for that.

I got it on PC for the following:

1.) Performance

2.) Controls

3.) The better map editor

4.) Future mods (this game is begging for it)

5.) Cheaper

6.) It was made for PC to begin with, so I figured it would just be common sense to get this for PC - obviously it wouldn't be as good on consoles - and from what I hear, I'm glad I went with PC.

Sadly not. It will be very much like RE 4 (i.e, linear). Not that that's bad, i loved RE 4.

Not sure I trust my PC to sufficiently supply the better graphics... have to go with 360. But first Fable, then selling my body, then Far Cry 2.

I will be getting the PC version. It's been delayed, at least in my area, until today, but whether or not I'll actually get it today is anyone's guess.

Definitely get it for PC if you have a PC. Even apart from all the usual reasons, the PC version allows you to save anywhere and the console versions apparently don't. Super imporant IMO, it will save you annoying repeated trips to safe houses and back, especially when you drive all the way over to a mission and then die.

Either today or tomorrow I'm going to go get it for PC.

2 reason:

1) I HATE console shooters

2) am a PC person

cant wait to play this

Ok. I only own a 360 and a Mac Mini (which is excellent for everything except games). However, even if I were to own a PS3 I would not be buying an FPS for that platform. The 360 gamepad is just better for this.

By the way I don't want to get into a row over whether gamepad is superior to mouse. If you are happy running Windows and using that control scheme then good for you. Ultimately, I prefer to work 'office-style' at a desktop (the Mac) and relax 'lounge-style' with a game on a comfy chair some distance from an old bright unstreaky Trinitron television - I don't have 'HD eyes'.

Facepalm.

I was being unclear here, what I meant is, "I can't wait for RE5."

THEN "Is Far Cry 2 an open African savannah?"
Apologies, that was poorly worded. But I know the answer now anyway.

Definitely the PC version. Pretty good game too. There's a few things about it that bring it down, such as repetitive missions.. but overall it's a very entertaining experience.
