I've always heard "Screen Watching," never anything else. Though since there doesn't seem to be a standard in place you can use just about any type of watching word after "Screen."

Screen Viewing
Screen Checking
Screen Eyeballing

Really though I don't think it's something anyone can really avoid, the other screen is usually right there in front of you. A corner of your eye glance will always tell you wether or not your friend just picked up a Red Shell and is about to fry your ass if you don't do something quick.

Screen Glancing

Though using it to aim a Green Shell back at them, that's something I'm guilty of only about 30% of the time.

Screen Gazing
Screen Scanning

Though as I said, it's kinda unavoidable unless you're super focused on your screen, like if you're swerving through some obstacles or sniping from a tall cliff somewhere.

Screen Spying

How can that be cheating? You are both looking at the same screen and your vision isn't constricted to your side. I'm presently looking a video on youtube on one screen (my TV) and I'm answering you on the forum at the same time and can keep my attention on both.
Because you're not supposed to do it. Just because you can doesn't mean it is allowed. It isn't a matter of whether or not it's possible, its whether or not it is considered fair. For example, I could knock the controller out of his hands when we play, but that would be cheating. If we are trying to hunt each other down, he has a huge advantage because he knows where I am by looking at my screen. I could do the same to him, but it is less fun for me, so I don't.
But that's far. So far aways from cheating. You don't and cannot hope not to use that knowledge in game whenever you look for it or not. Besically, both of you are cheating in your own word and that level the playing field.

Wow, after reading through the first page I'm surprised that only the OP calls it "screen hopping" since that's what I call it. I have friends that call it "screen looking" too but we all know what the other means.

I hop between a lot of those terms. I usually say something like "stop watching/peeking at/looking at the wrong screen, you cheater" in 1 way or another.

The only way I have never referred to it that was on your poll was "screen hopping".

I've always called it screen watching. But really, if you can't win with the other person screen watching, then the game is flawed. The developers have to know players will do this and adjust the game accordingly.

Did you even bother reading my response? Or ever learn proper grammar? I said I wasn't cheating, as I don't like losing some of the fun of the game. And you can very easily not look at the other person's side of the screen. Just pay more attention to your own.

I mean, just because you have hot cocoa doesn't mean you can screencheat!
Wait... What? Am I missing something here?
Yes.

But it really is a simple concept. Even if one is drinking a hot chocolatey beverage, that does not give one the right to screencheat in splitscreen multiplayer games.

Right, seems I need to brush up on my nonsensical rambling.

I've gotten rusty!

It's a very useful skill to have. Don't be lost without it, especially in today's job market.

Peen Screeking. I don't really remember why... when my old band finished our weekly jam sesh, we'd go play split-screen Goldeneye on our guitarist's N64 and one of us just said... peen screeking and, uh, it stuck

Q1: Yes, I did read your answers. Here's your first post where you say it's cheating.

I didn't change anything from your answers and just capitalize the last sentence.
Q2: No need be a dick about it. No, English isn't my first language but here, I can say that, most of the time, I'm far from being an offender.
Q3: Human Eyesight are attracted to movement. It's a scientific fact... which lead me to believe it's impossible. Therefore, I disagree with you.

1. In my first post I said it was my brother cheating, not me.

2. I apologize. I assumed from your first post that you knew English, and that you were just not caring in your later posts. Grammar is a pet peeve of mine, so I got pissed. I am sorry.

3. Fair enough. We agree that the other is wrong. Although, can't your eyesight be attracted to your own screen?

4. How do you enlarge letters and turn them blue like that?

When I said you got a larger field of vision then the split screen and that you still have a part of the brother's screen in mind. Whether you use it or not isn't up to debate. In a way, you do it without even thinking about it. THat's what I meant.

2. I apologize. I assumed from your first post that you knew English, and that you were just not caring in your later posts. Grammar is a pet peeve of mine, so I got pissed. I am sorry.

Yes, it can... doesn't mean your brain doesn't receive the data from the other side as well.

4. How do you enlarge letters and turn them blue like that?
[ h2 ]Text here[ /h2 ] You just remove the spaces inside the brackets.
