If it's a RTS or an RPG I fall back and make whatever baddie is chasing me pay by the inch, if its an fps i just go for the aforementioned "fuck off gun".

10 deaths? Oh goody, a challenge. Another ten, and I get option number 2. I'm the sort of guy that plays Soul Calibur (with my good characters, at least) using fake weapons and plays Smashbros on the Hardest settings possible.

On an FPS:
I give up any logical tactics and berserk my way to victory.

On an RPG:
Load previous save, skip the part on which I stuck, get more XP and come back later with a bigger spell/gun/sword/[enter any penis size-compensating weapon her] and rip my enemies a new one.

On and RTS:
Turtle my way to victory using builder units and artillery, steamrolling through enemy bases with a base of my own filled with defensive units.

Most importantly,if I'm stuck on a puzzle:
I give up until I'm back home, drunk on a saturday night, load up the game and solve it using my extraordinary ethanol-o-vision.

ROFL, this.

OT: I usually give up and try again tomorrow.

oh this is me playing CoD Classic on Veteran, except its not 10x per checkpoint, its more like 20-30x. I think I have a migraine from being so frustrated from the British missions, fuck are they needlessly hard.

Note: Fuck the dam mission. Seriously, this is my least favourite level in any FPS game ever made.

I usually try around 20 times before giving it up for the day.
There's always tomorrow.

Being killed 10 times in the same spot..? Ohhh... First, my desk would suffer some beating, and then I'd clench the teeth and continue until the game loses.

If I die the same way frequently. I put on my Rambo bandanna and actually start playing the game properly instead of my usual half assed style. If it continues I start yelling random things at it depending on the scenario.

Has anyone else noticed that the game starts giving you a handicap at this point? It's always where it's piss hard, and the next try it's piss easy.

For the most time I pick up another game for a little while, just enough time to forget about the tenth death at the same spot. Then after the mind has cleared I usually get past that point fairly quickly. Just as on of the best ways to figure out the solution of a complex physics assingment is to take some time an go to the bathroom, 9 out ten times I'm stuck on something wheter a game or a homework, just doing something else for a little while helps, but the bathroom must be the best =)

This is about offline gameplay i suppose so i like a challenge,
When this happens online (Annoying snipers, Javelin bug in modern warfare 2) i just leave, I play the game for my entertainment not for some annoying 8 year old that is going berserk in his room cause he found a bug

1. Analyze what I'm doing wrong - don't do what I'm doing wrong.
2. ????
3. Success!!!! (maybe profit if the game involves in-game currency).

Losing 10 times in a row at the same place won't bode well for my nerves. I quit for that day, to try another time. I have always regretted not quitting after 10 or so times because at the end of the day: It wastes my time, it enrages me and there is a chance I might damage something while enraged (but more importantly it makes me a socially terrible person temporarily).

I try harder and feel more frustration, I'll beat it yet. It sure took me a couple of tries to complete the level where you're supposed to drive a Scorpion through the city in ODST - I forgot to take the Scorpion. (T'was on heroic.)
