I have to say that my gaming attitude have changed a lot through the years cause I usually yelled,@#&*!@,smash&dash things (mouses most of the time,3 of them, and my bf thinks that was scary and hilarious at the same time *agree*),but I really stopped that(makes expression wrinkles, too)! I try at least 10 times ,if I don't succeed, give up for an hour,a day or more and when I play again *hallelujah* that's it!! But, even when I don't succeed with that way,I chat with my bf and friends about the situation (really enjoy that part which every1 says this and that, lol) and try again! When I succeed this time (finally!!) with my own way I tell it to my friends with that cool look/winner attitude (aha!! that's the best part really!). :)

I recently got stuck with this while I was playing Final Fantasy 6 on the SNES and ran into the Brachosaur. I figured, Oh this shouldn't be too hard. I killed like 3 Tyrannosaurs before this. It's a herbivore, how bad can it be? Then it proceeded to use Disaster, Ultima and Meteor on me. I came back a few more times until I figured out how to kill it, it involved a lot of Ice 3.

Finishing I Wanna Be The Guy kind of solved this problem for me. If I die more than 1000 times... THEN I start to get annoyed...

Toggle God Mode...

And if the game ain't got God Mode, fuck it.

...But normally, I'll go back and try it again, and fail, and get angry... It's a vicious cycle.

I am known for sticking at it just a little longer than anyone else finds reasonable, and then a little longer. I'm plowing through Mass Effect on Insanity difficulty right now to square away all my achievements before the sequel hits, and it involves a lot of random rocket deaths. I take it in stride at first, but after a while I start swearing at the game by name and flipping off the screen a lot.

Attempt to break my hand by slamming the desk/wall/floor several times.

Attempt again, repeat ^^^^

Try again with different tactics, usually stockpiling hundreds of healing items or grinding the fuck out my characters to get about ten levels higher than is necessary.

I depends of the game. If the game is a FPS, I keep trying, because there is only one strategy - point and shoot faster than the other guy.

If it's a GTA type game or a RPG, I watch a walkthrough.

And I forgot to mention I keep slamming my hands against the desk between tries.

I usually go to the store, buy a couple two liters of caffeine-filled beverages, lock my door, utter, "this shit will not beat me!" and keep taking notes until I utterly destroy the entire game 100%.

Depends on the game really call of duty or anything with loads of checkpoints fair enough, anything where you have to reload a save point from a little while back can fuck off
What about those boss fights where you have to see that 1 minute long cut scene before the fight again and again, every time you die!?

try 1-5 keep at it
try 5-10 try new tactics
look online
10-15 try found tactics
give up (for the night at least, possibly for a few weeks)
try again miraculously get it in a single try

This seems to be my pattern lately
it always works in a new try after a week or 2-3.

The only times I die tht often are in FPS, (really hard story-lines) or in FFX, seymour for the third time. For the FPS's, I just throw some flashes, hide behind stuff and work through it very. slowly. but. safely. For FFX, I got all my aeons with overdrives, then spammed them.

you Did realize that Seymour (after the wedding in that part you are in the bridge ) before the second fight after kimari leave if you keep fighting in that bridge you can finish every characters nodes.... You did know that right??????
