So, I missed my last two classes, yesterday and this morning on account of being unable to move. Almost literally this morning.

It's probably some kind of flu, and it comes with some mild nausea, the shakes, muscle aches, vertigo, spasmodic coughing, and of all things a runny nose.

In all my years at college, I've probably only missed about a dozen or two classes total. But, here's my question, what does it take for you to miss a class?

Laziness

I am lucky to be blessed with parents who would let me off school if I didn't want to go

mostly because I hadn't done homework

If its gym, ill miss it because the sky is blue.

I'll probably be skipping my class tonight from 6EST to 8:30EST because I got about three hours of sleep last night. Also, I just really don't feel like going a mile across campus for two and a half hours just to come right back.

I've been kicked out of college classess and POLICE ACADEMY (i cannot stress how sick you've got to be for them to tell you go back to bed) for coming in to sick. I usually call in sick about once every year or so.

I've skipped a few times, but all because school these days is so fucking pointless. I'd rather self-educate on what actually matters, rather than toil in piles of unnecessary garbage the teachers somehow relate to "learning".

When i'm sick and on tuesday my ankle was swollen so I couldn't do it.

needless to say I probably learned alot more when I was off that day, I learned everything to do with the 300 spartans battle which I learned the big build up to it, the navy battle going on to stop persian ships from aiding them , how the greek navy grew because of `1 lie and that 1000 other men stayed behind- after 7000 odd greeks were ordered to retreat - to stay with the spartans on there last stand of honour.

In my opinion, if you are having a discussion with yourself as to whether you should turn up or not then odds are on that you would be better off not going to the class (if you're having to convince yourself that going in is justified then it probably isn;t worth it).

I pretty much have to be really sick with something not to go, although I'm not always super alert every time I do go ;-P I make sure I take notes, but that's about it.

My sleep functions basically. I will never intentionally miss a class but if I'm sleep forget about it.

Schedule conflict with work mostly...i dont really like to skip class now that im in university. Now my highschool days...haha thats another story, 85+ absent days in the school year 9th grade, beat that.
Really? At my high school, you have to repeat a year if you get over around 20-30 absents.

I skip class whenever I want. All the material is online if I feel like doing it, and now that I've done most of the non-major classes, the ones I do have I can skip freely. I always attend my major, though.

There is a big difference Between SKIPPING and NOT GOING imo. skipping is when you decide not to cause you dont want to not going is because you cant ie sick or doctors appointment etc

I almost got held back in 3rd or 4th (I forget which) for absences.

I'm guessing you're still in public school. Usually college is a lot more interesting and better about being relevant (or just being very interesting). If you're bored in a college level class it's usually because you shouldn't be taking the class, or it's required for your major.

nothing.

i will attend every class unless i am ill, have some other reason for not going, or drop out altogether... which is actually something i am seriously considering.

i don't like college...
