I was raised on Nintendo, have a family member working at Nintendo, and have always been a Nintendo fanboy, regardless of it slowly moving progression. But yes, I still love Nintendo and always will.

I was a huge Nintendo fan for years, I went from NES to SNES to N64 to Gamecube and loved them all, especially the Gamecube. Even when other consoles offered games that I really wanted to play, I never regretted my gaming decision. Then they released the Wii with its revolutionary motion controls. I thought that Nintendo were going to do something really special with the technology and with eager glee, I snapped up my Wii.

And I waited for something to happen...and I waited...and I waited...and I waited, all the while Nintendo released nothing but dire mini game compilation after dire mini game compilation for its shiney new console. Sure, every now and then it would throw me a bone like Okami, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Super Mario Galaxy or No More Heroes. But the Wii eventually got used for playing my old Gamecube games more than its own and after about a month and a half of playing nothing but Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition (which wasn't a totally horrible experience) I had had enough.

The love affair with Nintendo was over.

I traded my Wii and its games in against the price of a PS3, I felt so unfaithful, but for me to enjoy gaming again, I had to move on.

A year and a half later and I am still enjoying gaming with my PS3, its flirtation with Motion Control technology is easily ignorable and I'm hoping that the shiney black monster can give me many more years of gaming fun.

I don't hate Nintendo, I still have a soft spot for them but for me to buy a Nintendo console in the future, they would have to go back to making fun games again.

Honestly, you'll find some rather mindless Nintendo hatred here. For some reason the PC Gaming Master Race takes particular offense to Nintendo's very existence.
Nah, the PC Master Race has a problem with the consoles that are stealing their genres. Nintendo has never been that console.

Having a problem with Nintendo is like a Deadwood fan complaining about Children's Cartoons. I'm sure there's some uptight assholes (without kids) who do it, but mostly it's so outside your tastes that it almost doesn't exist. PCs are much more likely to take aim at Apple.

Console fans, on the other hand, are forced to endure lots of motion control schemes that generate almost nothing but shovelware because of the Wii... and grew up with the console wars, so endless sniping at the system they didn't buy is fairly natural.

I've always been a fan of Nintendo and probably always will be. I'll never understand this need to hate on the company because you don't agree with how they run their company, but that can be applied to just about every platform I suppose. People need to find better things to do with their time and energy.

I will avoid debate by simply writing the following points.

Nintendo 64 - Love It!
Nintendo DS - Adore It!
Nintendo Wii - Oh F*** off!!!!

I like Nintendo, they seem to have the quick/casual games market all to themselves. Also, they do throw out a good adventure game or two now and then (Zelda Series for example).

However, I think Apple's iOS and Google's Android are going to be a bit of a problem for Nintendo. To me, I would imagine more people playing games on their phone rather than carrying around an extra gaming device device with them.

I only have a problem when developers dont bother suport or at least porting to our platform, plus all the friggen DRM

anyway Its not like the Wii fills me with rage, I just roll my eyes at the the whole pandering to nostalga thing

anyway anyone can get annoyed at the whole OMG ITS NINTENDO WHICH MEANS MARIO WHICH MEANS ITS AWSOME!!!!...I think nintendo just isnt as good as it used to be, they are not ahead of the pack, but thats fine they are focusing on their nieche and who are we to say otherwise?

Personally, I think that they've been releasing the same games since the GameCube. I just don't think that anything that they do is very fun. Also, Wii Music.

I'm indifferent about Nintendo these days.

If they choose to move more into casual gaming while keeping the core small, that's fine. At least be happy they are not trying to eliminate the core gamers from their business practices. If they were, you would never have seen Mario Galaxy, but if they were truly set on keeping the core strong, they would not have released Mario Galaxy 2 in the form it was.

The way I see Nintendo is on a see-saw, with the passenger labeled Casual being a bit heavier than the Core side; it makes one side have more pull and impact on the object. One minute, they're supporting the core gamers, but most of the rest of time, it's casual gamers like mothers or youth.

If that's how they choose to make money right now, that's fine. They're still making good games here and there, but none really appeal to me. I have my DS Lite, and enough DS/GBA games to last me a long time.

To be brutally frank, Nintendo and its first-party games must still be considered good by a lot of people, or they wouldn't sell well, and Nintendo would stop making the games.

I like Nintendo. I like their games. I like the company's style.
