There is only one reason to hate Nintendo, sure many to dislike, but to hate it...

I swore vengince on Nintendo when they bought out the rights to the Dragonquest series and completely ruined 9 and are sure to ruin any future ones.

Dragonquest 8 was splendid in story, game-play, as well as the remarkable 3D Anime graphical effect that made it a joy to look at, whether walking, fighting, playing slot machines, all of the above in the dark world, and last but absolutely not least, Flying/landing.

Curse you Nintendo, even your priceless old series that once made me joyous cannot compare with taking a beautifully crafted series, and forcing it to take steps backward into a trash bin, rather then moving it forward.

I never really play my Wii, as much as Sony and Microsoft get crap about it, they waited for the tech to be worthwhile before they came out with motion controls. The Wii controller is as clunky and unergonomic as swinging a mattress at a building. Super Mario Galaxy is fun, as is Boom Blox, but their true value is mostly sentimental.

I remember playing LoZ:OoT all hours of the night, trying to beat BanjoKazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, challenging my sisters to GoldenEye 64, and being astounded by my first experience with Mario 64. That being said all of those titles came out well over a decade ago. Most of their titles are directed at my niece now. I don't think thats bad at all, its just not for me. So I'm happy it gives me a connection to the future gamers out their, I hope they collect as happy of Nintendo memories as I received from them.

I do believe Nintendo are outrageously over rated.

But having said that, I don't mind some of their older titles.

They are cool, but could be better, I mean I can't hate on them *looks at avatar* because they got me into games but they are kinda stuck, they are not moving forward, I mean sure they revitalized the industry by getting all that casual game stuff (which everyone should appreciate as it did give a big boost to the industry, even if you don''t like that casual game thing which I don't really think it should qualify as a genre, but I digress since I'm getting off topic), but they keep dishing out the same game with a little twist (look at LoZ TP, my least favorite Zelda which is not bad but I had a big case of been there done that and in better ways when I played it, oh and also I've played all the Zelda games except the 2 DS ones and 4 Swords Adventures for the GC), you know they are not really making anything new it's just like same old same old.

I agree

though have you not heard of rare? they are what made the N64 Banjo Kazooie/tooie goldeneye and the lesser known cult favorite conkers bad fur day
I I have heard, and I did mention Golden Eye was one out of 2 N64 games I did like. I felt that Banjo Kazooie/Tooie and Donkey Kong 64 was just a re-skinned Mario 64, and I despised 3d Platforming from that era especially Mario 64. Rare also made Perfect Dark (a re-skined Golden Eye )and Killer Instinct (bad fighting game), the only Nintendo fighting game that isn't Smash bros
I guess you could say that banjo kazooie is a clone of Mario 64 plus I guess if its not your thing its not your thing, but to honest I think its a million times better, especially if your like me and never played mario 64, but Banjo kazooie instead

1. I think the graphics are better for N64 plus Banjoo kazooie has a really cool artstyle

2. the game is really funny, full of off-beat humour, memorable charachters and even inuendo (as back when rare was awsome they did seem to add this stuff to their games) and the gameplay/ puzzles are awsome, plus banjo tooie could be considered the prime example of the RIGHT way to do a seaquel

I guess you wouldnt find it all that great if you tried playing it now, but nostalga aside I can still play it and dosnt get old...plus Im still going to finish them dammit! (even if it takes me another decade!...12 years now...)

its a shame rare had to go all stupid and ruined it with nuts and bolts, I mean seriously the logic completley fails me...take the most beloved platform series with a good fanbase and do what? make about vehechles......fucking vehechles???? *nerd rage* makes completley no sense from all perspectives

I wouldn't quite say I'm a "nintendo lover" but I at least give them credit for when they do well... So I guess I'll answer both.

1. Yes, I own a Wii. It was actually my first console this gen.

2. No. But it IS the console I play the most.

It stands up on its own quite fine for me. Between MH3 (Fantastic game. Worth buying a wii for by itself) and my virtual console/wiiware library I don't really NEED my 360, PS3, DS or PSP. I just have them to experience (even more) of what video games have to offer.

1) Yes I do have a Wii, along with the Sega Dreamcast it is the one gaming console I own.

2) I have three brothers and consoles going back to the Amiga. Yes I have more than one console, currently we have all the current generation consoles however the Wii has the most games, and thanks to Super Smash Bros Brawl is the most played gaming device in the house.

As for me, I love Nintendo. I'm a fan of stories and character, and Nintendo appreciates their franchises, rarely willing to let them die out. Sure some of them haven't appeared in a while, and I would like to see them return but Nintendo will always continue the tale of the likes of Mario and Link.

When it comes to playing a game I often look to my Wii, mostly because of Brawl, but also due to a lack of games I like on the other two current consoles. The games I play on the Xbox 360 include Eternal Sonata, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing, BlazBlue and Dead or Alive 4. The only games I have really played in depth on the PS3 are Batman: Arkum Asylum and Assassins Creed 2. The Wii on the other hand I have just obtained over Christmas Sonic Colours, Red Steel 2, Metroid Other M, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Fragile Dreams. Me and my little brother have so far been having endless fun (and deaths) on Donkey Kong Country Returns.

A lot of people are talking of PC gamers, something I have little to no knowledge about as I have never had an interest in PC games. A lot of people are also mentioning the Wii's bad third party support, which is true but it doesn't mean that the Wii is lacking decent ones. Muramasa The Demon Blade for instance has become one of my favourite games of all time and it is a third party Wii game.

Some of these comments annoy me but others give actual reasons for disliking or never caring about Nintendo so this forum is a lot less biased than I feared it would be. As for the poll I voted the top answer, I love and will continue to love Nintendo.

Your quote works fine

and judging from your tastes and the fact that you use your wii so much then Theres really nothing wrong with that

as for the whole PC gamer thing...thats really got nothing to do with ones opinion of the wii, as there are other people who dislike the wii from the xbox and playstation camps, its just PC gamers have a repuation for being elitist...I dont really know where this "PC gamers hate the wii" thing came from

anyway Current state of things PC gaming isnt that different from consoles in terms of content, except for the odd exclusive and RTS and MMO's and many other kinds of indie games, none of thease are really my taste which is actually more in line with a console, but I still prefer the mouse and keyboard and I use a laptop so the portability is awsome and perfect given my current living situation

over the years theres no denying that there were many amazing PC games which at the time offered somthing you couldnt get from consoles, nowdays it is very console focused but To be honest I dont care much about whats on what...if I can play it ,Im happy...though somtimes that is an issue (where is my red dead redeption???!!!!!)

To be fair, I never said "PC Gamers". I said "PC Supremists". They're the incredibly elitist individuals, they just tend to hate the wii FAR more than the xbox 360 or PS3.

I like Nintendo. I suppose the Virtual Boy is considered a huge heaping pile of failure, but I loved it. I have a DS now and thoroughly enjoying Atlus games like Etrian Odyssey series and Dark Spire - not the most likely place to find "hardcore" games, yet there they are, some of the deepest and most challenging RPGs I've played lately. NES/SNES were also great in their time.

I agree there's not much to the Wii for most PC gamers, but they didn't really advertise it as something that would have a library of deep games. It's always just been something to keep your girlfriend or kids busy, and as such, it's not a bad console.

Although I do think they are an excellent company and have made brilliant and iconic games in their day, I wish that they'd focus more on game quality than gimmicks and overused characters.

They made Mario and Pokemon, two of my most favorite and nourished franchises out there to date.

I like them (mostly on the handheld side, and gamecube era), though I do despise the Wii. Too much pandering to the 8-13 age group, and not enough true variety on the "maturer" end.

I don't see a "it hasn't been good since gamecube" option here, so... yeah, it hasn't been good since gamecube. The Wii is just gamecube 1.5 honestly. And none of the major franchise games have had the same charm that the gamecube gave us. Hell not even SSBB is anywhere near as fun as Melee.
Pretty much this. They're nowhere as great as they used to be and I really really hate how they simplify (water down) their games because they think it will branch out to a bigger audience. Fuckin' Brawl and MKW!

I will always remember them for great titles like Super Metroid and Ocarina of Time but I can't support them anymore, they've just lost the plot.

I will cite the Mario Brothers 25th Anniversary as an example. Anyone who bought this game and was alive longer than 15 years or so will recognize this game as Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES. They didn't even bother to change the menus or the picture of the SNES controller telling you how to control your character. It's the laziest thing I've seen a company do to re-purpose old product and charge full price for.

It's the moment I, as an older-school Nintendo fanboy, gave up hope on Nintendo for good. Fuck Nintendo.

Meh, I'm rather indifferent to them nowadays: Don't get me wrong, i respect them for what they've done for gaming but...well, i don't really buy any of their consoles or anything else like that.

Honestly, you'll find some rather mindless Nintendo hatred here. For some reason the PC Gaming Master Race takes particular offense to Nintendo's very existence.
Pfft! PC gamers are not a master race....THIS is a master race:

Sorry, but it needs to be said.
