Nintendo has yet to have a decent third-party game.
Monster Hunter 3. That is all.

Nintendo is an overall positive company.

They seem to only spew out copies of old franchises these days. I find my self frequently disappointed by them.

I can't help but love Nintendo. The first console I owned (not shared with my brothers like my Megadrive was -.-) was my clear green Nintendo 64. It came with Pokemon Stadium...Ah. It got me into my favourite game series (Legend of Zelda) and it made the sweetest game character ever (Kirby).

I feel a deep emotional attachment to Nintendo because of all the childhood memories they gave me. XD

Are there people that seriously believe that the Mario franchise is dying, akin to the Sonic franchise? Did they miss those games that received huge amounts of critical acclaim and big sales?

Crazy...

Honestly, you'll find some rather mindless Nintendo hatred here. For some reason the PC Gaming Master Race takes particular offense to Nintendo's very existence.
The hatred isnt mindless

I understand that thease guys have been the most important gaming company in the past and their contribution to gaming has been very important, and I said before Its not like I can blame them for going into the casual market

that said I Dont think they are really ahead of things anymore, I dont care about them they just keep making the same games over and over...oh sure thease games are good but ive got no motivation or reason to play Zelda or mario, I prefer story...you know? and a "mature" wii game, Mad world? hahaha oh please, theres nothing about Nintendo that interests me since they ruined Metroid

anyway being a PC gamer has nothing to do with my opion of nintendo

Because some PC gamers are xenophobic by nature and will always hate nintendo for being both awesome and console exclusive.

Nintendo is pretty much dead to me. I don't really care for their main franchises, nor do I hold nostalgia for any of them, which is what they're aimiing at. Other than that they're mainly focusing on adding features I couldn't care less about. I don't want 3D, nor did I ever want motion controls. Maybe one day they'll make something I care about, but today isn't that day.

Haters gotta hate. Haters don't gotta be rational about hate.

I think some of us have valid reasons to disliek nintendo regardless of our platform of choice.....I am a PC gamer and I dont think all consoles are rubish (excpet the wii but ONLY because its not targeted to my interests in the first place)

Hence the "some" part. Some people have valid reasons to dislike things, some people hate for hates sake.
Don't make me bold things. I'm too lazy.

To be honest, I've not really played Nintendo games much. I never owned one of their consoles, and have pretty much never played any of the games from their main gaming franchises. I was a Playstation 1/2 and now PC gamer person. I never have had any really experience with Nintendo, so I don't really care about them.

For the people who say they hate them because they keep making the same games over and over, that's what everyone is doing. Innovation in gaming in general is sadly lacking, Nintendo isn't worse about it than others. They're probably better about it actually considering the Wii introduced some real innovations, even if those innovations weren't particularly worthwhile in themselves.

I don't see a "it hasn't been good since gamecube" option here, so... yeah, it hasn't been good since gamecube. The Wii is just gamecube 1.5 honestly. And none of the major franchise games have had the same charm that the gamecube gave us. Hell not even SSBB is anywhere near as fun as Melee.

I can't believe I actually sat out in the bitter cold to receive a Wii when it first came out. Twilight Princess was good, but dear god, the Wii is probably THE biggest disappointment in gaming history. It draws you in with its "realistic movement controls" and gives you a shit-load of third party games and about 5% of ok games. Not to mention the graphics or the fact that it's been sitting on my shelf collecting dust. The only fun I ever had was playing RE:4 on it. That's it.

Right now Nintendo is going through its awkward teen years, so I'll wait a few years for them to sort themselves out.

I'm certainly no where near Nintendo fanboyism, but they do continue to produce fun games even if they contribute little to nothing for the future of gaming as a whole.

And Brawl is still the only game I can continue to have fun with when I have friends over. Even Castle Crashers got old once we beat it the first time.

No matter what anyone thinks of Nintendo, the are marketing geniuses and are not going away for a very long time. I admit Nintendo is stumbling in treating those that they've won over with their excellent lines of games of years past with any respect by expanding to broader audiences, but we still get that fantastic gem every once in awhile.

it'd be nice if they stepped back up to the plate, I've really enjoyed Nintendo over the years and as of late the love they've shown me back has felt few and far between. I'm not saying I'm special or anything and deserve any treatment. but I've followed along with the Wii and I would like to get some use out of it again. but thank goodness for the DS.
I agree with you, I have a Wii but i hardly ever play the thing. It would be nice if Nintendo came out with something new.
