Rapel- I'm joking!

STALKER is pretty relaxing for me, oddly.
Shooting people in the face just calms me down... in a game.

No TVs have died, YET, controllers though, that's a different story.. and the TV remote may have been shattered by me more than once, too.
When a game pisses me off, I will usually put on Oblivion, or Portal. It's pretty hard for me to get worked up during those.
However, when I'm stressed, just had an argument with someone, etc, I find blowing zombies to pieces to be the best therapy. It used to be Resident Evil 3, now I always go to Left 4 Dead, I get to shoot LOTS of zombies, and it controls nicely, so I don't get angrier because of constant death and failure. :p

Fallout and Fallout 2. Witnessing supermutant disembodied by a shot from plasma rifle never gets old and for me it's very relaxing.

Audiosurf combines my relaxing music with F-Zero style gameplay.

The best of both worlds really. And you can get it on Steam.

I sometimes go back to Batman: Arkham Asylum and replay the challenge rooms to kick some ass. Also, Killing Floor is a fun game for causing violence and relieving stress.

Basically, any game I'm very good at. It's why I generally play on a relatively easy mode so I don't run into anything frustrating.

My favourite relaxing game is Just Cause 2, as you can just take a car/motorbike around the huge island and enjoy the incredibly detailed graphics at your own leisure :p

I just hop onto MW2, mute everyone, and start playing some Hardcore Team Deathmatch. Sure, I don't usually win, but it's always fun putting bullets into people.

That would be heavy as fuck and I would probably break my back. On your OP topic, uhm, listening to music while I play any game is effective.

I second Left 4 Dead, but traditionally my friend and I drag out Star Wars:Battlefront and swear like sailors. The mindless violence is soothing, plus its one of the only times I get to swear freely as I have 4 siblings more than 10 years younger than me and I try to set a good example.

To be honest wwf: no mercy on the N64. Its quite fun knocking out one of the superstars you hate. PC game wise would probably have to be TF2, because nothing relaxes you more than headshotting a scout jumping up and down trying to get to you, and then the sniper talking and making me chuckle no matter how many times i hear it.

Crushed a controller with my bear hands.

AVP for relaxation, I shouldn't confuse it with sedatation, mind you.
Like these?

OT: My go to relaxation game is Robot Unicorn Attack [http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicorn-attack-twitchy-online-game.html]

L4D2 + most rougher songs from Queen = relaxed me. I don't want music that's too hard, like Judas Priest or anything, or too mellow music. Queen sits right in the golden zone.

Also WoW + Samurai Champloo OST. Just questing a bit while listening to those soothing, mellow hip hop beats really chills me out.

I tend to relax wih Rock Band - it's amazing how cathartic hitting something with a pair of sticks can be!

Never actually broken a real controller or a TV before, but I have got through more than my fair share of fake plastic guitars...

Pokemon. Although, not when I have to go through a cave. Zubats tick me off.

Outside of that, it's very relaxing. In fact, I find most grinding to be relaxing.

Music Catch. It is so calming. The second one is okay, but not quite as good in my opinion. Play it here:
