Poll: What Gender do you play as in an MMO or any game really and why?

Being a girl I opt for women but to be honest I'd prefer playing female characters anyway. They're more graceful and pleasant to look at than their roided up counterparts.

I can't say I have a real reason, but I'm usually a guy unless if being a female effects gameplay. If it does, even if it's just romance things in Mass Effect, I'm usually female.

It mostly depends on character class. If I can play as a female, I do that and rarely ever play as a guy. However, there are some games where I can't do that (Torchlight springs to mind right now), so I go with what I want to play as. If it's as a male, no biggie.

Male, because I am male. In some cases (all asian mmos) the guys look femaler than the females, then I choose female. Or when I played WoW and wanted a Druid, I had to play nightelves and therefore had to choose a female.

Normally male but I did play as a female Shepard for Mass effect because all the male characters I tried to make looked like confusing cyborgs.

Pretty much solely male, because I am one. Like people before me have mentioned. I have played a couple of females, though (I'd say 2 or 3 out of the 100+ characters I've created in all [mmo]RPGs I've played), just to see what it was like. In MMO's, it was specifically interesting to see the change in behaviour of random people to you.

Ass rule... simple as that... If I'm going to be staring at someone's behind while I play then it should at least be mildly appealing. The dude option doesn't work that way for me :/. I don't pretend to be female just because of the character, and the way I talk generally gives it away before I have to say it anyway.

In the case on multiple characters, I'll take at least one of each since there may be a gameplay mechanic that associates your gender into it.
