Ok then. I'm outside the age range but I'd join anyway. Go naval. Steal a fucking boat asap, get my family and friends on it with me, and go pirate (and not stupid somali pirate, we're not getting sniped.) If America has to re-instate the draft then they have already failed completely and I want nothing to do with patriotism whatsoever at that point. And yes, I'm in Amerika (nice spelling, are you making a point with it?)

EDIT: And to the ASSHATS who are calling out "coward" I'm taking as many men 18-35 with me as I can. You all can go fight in their place.
Lol, nice choice :D

Aah, and no, no point in the different spellings. Just a little inside joke I'm sure 99% of you won't get. One of those 'had to be there' things.
I've seen that spelling elsewhere. I think it was a rapper making a KKK commentary on the country.
Oh, didn't know that. Sorry. Fixed it.

Hmm tough choice but realistically any nation enforcing a draft has already lost the war anyway one problem is that it destroys the economy and that conscripted force are usless in a modern setting both in ability and loyalty and for many countrys the population simply isn't large enought even if every individual was to fight.
Since everything will have basically gone to hell I might as well fight since nothing of value will be left anyway soo
Long ranged combat no way would i be front line material with a build like mine

I chose combat support since that would be the types of jobs that I would be good at. I don't mind killing in the name of the king, I would just rather be tinkering arround with stuff behind the battle field rather than be on the battle field itself.

This is a realy thaught provoking poll. I applaud the OP for actualy using the poll feature of this forum for somthing other than trying to get people to agree with them by presenting a one sided question with one sided answer options.

Why, thank you.

I'm off to pound me in the ass prison, as a pacifist who could never be in the army, and would never intentionally harm another human being.

Though, as a woman, I guess I escape that, since I don't have to volunteer to refuse to go into the army.

Where's the "Surrender the instant the enemy attack" option?
Yup, that's right, you wanted to spend all of WWII in a Japanese internment camp where they felt you were subhuman because you surendered. Enjoy...

Overall its pathetic how selfish and short sighted some of the people in this thread have been. Sometimes war is necessary to protect those you love and the life you have. Sometimes its need to protect the innocent elsewhere because looking after others is the right thing to do. Sure, sometimes wars are started by stupid politicians for the wrong reasons, but the selfish jerks who say "what has my country done for me" just don't get it.
I get it, but that doesn't mean I give a shit. I don't care what my country's done, or not done, for me. Millitary service can go fuck itself.

I love how many in this thread is either casting this aside as madness or glorifying it as the second comming of Christ. All the patrionism and the love and hate in this thread. Just brilliant.

----------------

You can't bitchslap a guy, call him an coward and throw him into the middle of the warzone and think he'll do anything good - HE WILL DIE.
Just because you were born with an unnatural small dick and him having a much bigger one doesn't mean you have to become tough and manly to substitute for it, and it doesn't mean he has to die for it.

Using the godawefull excuse of "I don't fight for my country, I fight for my loved ones!" - What on Earth do you think that your enemy fights for? His country? NO!
If you care about your friends and loved one, get out of the country or move furhter in. Chances are that you might be bombed in your home or they'll completely miss your area.

Here was another fun thing someone said:
"Fight them because they're evil!"
No, they aren't more evil than what you are. What says they are evil? They are just fighting to protect their loved ones, just like you are.

Just hilariusly sad.

The comments about the Swedish military service was hilarius! ^_^
*Is Swedish, thinks Sweden is crap in many ways*

----------------

Now, personally I've voted for Frontline Combat.
Not for my country.
Not for my friends.
Not for my family.
But for me.
Only for me.
My reasons are my own.

I would be the chick with the granade launcher or sniper rifle, pistol and my Katana sword. And before anyone says anything bad about bringing a sword into a fight of pistols - Imagine walls and buildings or trees and muddy ground.
What would like to have written on your tombstone dearie?

On a more serious note, best post ever. Evil and Good are subjective at the end of the day.

I'd be on my way to Canada before even getting close to a military base to serve. Something about walking around in a hot desert in ~40 pounds of gear while being shot at and having to watch where I walk in fear of I.E.D.'s just dosen't say fun to me.

for me it depends. If this war was for a good reason i will would be in the military and not ask any questions. If it was for a stupid reason. (like this whole Iraq conflict now)I would simply sneak out of the country. Canada here i come!

Sneak out. No reason necessary when it's either that or learn to fight and kill in my opinion.

Sorry, but apparently you missed the 'Civilian Service' option along with the 'Combat support' description..."In this option you can serve without ever touching a weapon, if you simply talk with your commanding officer and site personal reasons against violence."

Part of the reason those options were there was seeing if pacifistic people would obey and/or agree with the law, given that they could help without touching or using a weapon.
