Shes proberly paler in portal 2 having spent 230 or so years in suspension in a dim room :p
but look at her face it,s entirely different in Portal 2
The second picture is concept art and has a different angle/lighting.

It would be a lot easier to compare if somebody had some similar screenshots from both games.
Fixed that.

... Does this even matter? I mean it's all great she is not just another whiteie (yes, I'm fed up with white protagonists). But race should never be a defining characteristic, (White guy: Tabula Rasa, everyone else, racial stereotype).

But to answer the question at hand, I really like what Valve did, she looks like a mix of everything to me (in those pics atleast).

I must say I really really like this idea, that whatever the race of the character, it doesn't matter at all. Nothing, whatsoever would change the experience of portal if Chell was 100% African, Arabic, Caucasian, Asian or even, well, male. Chell could be anyone and no one really. Only there for the occasional "i looked at myself with portals"

Edit: Forgot all about her crazy eyes o_O

I've always thought of her being hispanic or latina. I still think that equals race diversity, not all that many hispanic protagonists.

Probably marathon, she never seems to get tired. But I'd figure she'd be more suited for high jump with those fancy high heels.

Well let's see, her face model is half hispanic and half japanese. So I'm going to go with that.

Isn't the actual human model that they used as a reference Brazilian/Japanese? And the in game character does look pretty much exactly like the human model.

It seems to vary depending on the artist.

But yeah, I'll just go with the Alésia Glidewell thing.
I personally thought she was just a huge mix of stuff.

Edit:
Her concept outfit looks more white than anything:

White, Black, Eskimo and Asian (Asian not so much) are all offensive terms. I am very offended.
OT: I have no idea.

I still kinda thing that there is no such thing as a human race. I don't even think that two human beings can differ enough genetically to fall under the definition race. There are dogs races, for example, simply because they differ more genetically.
