Nonsensical mental limitations and inhibitions are the worst creation of humanity.

In other words, I'll keep trick-or-treating because there's no good reason to stop. Funtimes!

I think I've done it at 3am while drunk, in that kind of case it's probably best that the trick or treat-er is over 16

You're never too old for free candy!

... Nonetheless, I'm not going to any houses this year. I just demand tax from my siblings as payment for keeping them out of trouble. I also get the largest share of the leftovers! :D

Whats wrong with loving free candy?
This

I know people in Uni who are still going out trick-or-treating. There is not cut-off age.

I stopped when I was 8, and these people are continuing at ages 14-15. It just seems juvenile to me.

I have never trick or treated in my life and I am very surprised that people over the age of 7 do it. I've had a few of them knock on my door before, but they were always little kids

Nevar! Although people tend to stop giving out candy when you get out of high school...

It really depends on how good your costume is. Better costume = larger age range.

A bunch of my friends and I are going trick-or-treating and we're all 15/16. I guess it's up to the person, some other people my age are just going to parties or staying home. I'm going because free candy is AWESOME!
Sugary treats are all well and good, but I like halloween for the cool persona thing, taking on a mask and being a different character.

Maybe that's just the DnD geek showing through though.

Almost every year I hand out candy at my aunts house. As long as they practice certain etiquette, I don't mind when older kids or even up to the late teens come for candy. As long as they wait until the younger kids have finished trick-or-treating and they show up in costume. The older kids around my aunts place are awesome. They don't start till later or they let all the little ones go first. I also don't mind repeaters.

It may have to do with the fact that I live in a bad neighborhood filled with perverts and sexual predators, but y'know.

I am currently in high school, and I was amazed at the amount of people who are still trick-or-treating. I stopped when I was 8, and these people are continuing at ages 14-15. It just seems juvenile to me. I even know a junior (16-17) who is trick-or-treating this weekend. This brings up the question, when should you stop?

You stopped when you were 8? Oh, you poor sad sad little child

I think my final year was when I was 16 or 17

You know, not too sound to much like a douchebag. But the day that you can do things you loved as a kid without any inhibitions, is a glorious day. Hell, I still love getting dressed up and going trick-or-treating. Getting baked makes it 10 times better.
Go to a haunted house when doing that. IT's SCARY AS HELL! I ran up stairs the fastest in my life and pushed two friends out of my way cuz the chainsaw guy was behind us. When I got to the top I was looking around for them and couldn't figure out what happened til they told me I pushed them. Aah good times. That and one of the people I went with pulled a knife on some clowns.

Alright to the topic. I say whenever you feel ridiculous walking door to door dressed up. If that never happens for you then more power to ya but it hit me around junior year.
