BBC was awesome until it stopped showing the Simpsons many years ago. The news is alright. If I had to watch the news on some tv channel it would be the BBC, cuz I'm accustomed to their news presenters.

The BBC does some good stuff, it does a lot of shit but most of it's okay. They over pay some of the most popular people, it appears that British people really like arrogant jerks like Johnathon Ross and Jeremy Clarkson.

All the money spend on those dicks could have been used making another firefly series.

The news because it's affiliated with the government must provide a balanced position. Even if that means attempting to justify things which are frankly unjustifiable.

Makes some really good shows. News wise I don't really use the Beeb but they are one of the better TV news sources out there IMO...and they have Jeremy Paxman, always a win.

I get all the news that matters to me from the good 'ol Escapist!

...lol. But seriously, I could usually care less what the world's up to. Another fatcat played fast and loose with investor dollars? What else is new. More Republicans and Democrats fighting over how patriotic the color choice of Obama's socks is? Again, who cares?

I watch the Daily Show and the accompanying Report for laughs, and the rest of my news I get from trolling the web, like a responsible angsty, ideological college student.

Mostly the internet, but I use the A(ustralian)BC if I want to actually watch the news, however rare that may be.

It also does this, which I love it endlessly for.

I very much consider them trustworthy, they are pretty much world renowned for providing a (pretty much) unbiased report of events.

I prefer Channel 4 news, but both have a habit of sensationalising things
Then perhaps you've never seen ITV news then, it's garbage. It's basically the British equivalent of Fox News.

I think about The BBC being very reliable and it being all about the quality. And if it weren't for The BBC; there wouldn't be Monty Python, just the way it is at least. That's one of the main reasons I think so highly about it. They also make some great documentaries.

As a Finn, I mostly use news sources (about current situations) that are in my native language.

The BBC is, well, as bad as all media sources. All of them give false info, all of them exaggerate... I don't think they're any worse than any other place.

Although, to be honest, I get my news from the Guardian (I'm in the UK, btw).
"...All the while the Guardian's in a corner fanning itself with a wall chart 'You silly little things, tell 'em Telegraph' 'Cricket! Cricket!'"

I regard it as three letter that is also the name of a news station. It also gives me top gear.

I trusted the BBC till they started spending my TV licence money, and then crying they didn't earn enough money.

Because £100,000 is mere change.

Over here in Northern America, we tend to think of the BBC as this classy reliable source of news, a cut above our own mainstream media (CNN, Fox etc.) However talking to one of my friends from the UK, you'd think that across the pond they don't care for it at all, placing it on a level of trashiness equivalent to Faux News itself.

So please: Where are you from, and how do you regard the BBC?
It is FUCKING TERRIBLE. Really. Sensationalist crap mostly. Only the other day there was an article about binge drinking over new year, and the news anchor turned to his news crumpet and said "What are the government going to do about it?", like it's any of their business.

Remember the panic about swine flu? 50000 to die! Screamed the BBC.

i only get my news from the BBC because quite simply i don't have to listen to a bunch of stories about child molesters and other such rifraff to hear stuff what is important... not saying that child molesters and such arent important but seriously...when you cover the same news story 21 broadcasts in a row.... i pretty much just say screw it and move on....
