Saying EA would be to easy, especially since they're aware of their own villainy.

Capcom, complete disrespect towards their consumers that made them such a successful business to begin with. I'll say they're the worst because at least EA doesn't insult us, they just nickel and dime, Capcom does both and then some. Best part is they aren't even aware of their own downfall (my prediction: they go bankrupt in less than 5 years if they continue). I also like how they always come out and put words in our (the fans) mouths. "RE6 was teh awezome said all of teh fanz, teh scawiest of em all!" - Capcom PR because they apparantly know us all personally. Classic.

EA. They're like some horrible plague that doesn't stop destroying or corrupting all in it's path and wake. The reasons are too numerous to list, but just look at how they've taken great new or well trusted IP's and ruined them to the point where even die-hard fans have turned away in disgust. They treat their customers like shit, then have the audacity to criticize them for complaining about being treated like shit. They buy positive reviews, and pay off "journalists" to criticize their customers for complaining as well.

Every thing About Electronic Arts is just awful, they are a blight upon the industry and a detriment to anyone that enjoys video games. Even the way the market handles DLC, micro-transactions, and so on, have been influenced by their fuckery.

The worst part is there's just no cure; EA is too big to die unless gaming dies, their roots run too deep. This means that for as long as we play video games we will have to put up with EA, and watch with revulsion as they take over and destroy company after company.

They're one of the biggest game companies in the world, and they're absolutely shameless about their overtly greedy and sleazy tactics.

I wouldn't say I really hate any game company. Sure there are a few that I have to facepalm at on occasion (I'm looking at you Capcom, all your overpriced fighter DLCs and your inability to introduce new Monster Hunter titles to non-Nintendo products) but all in all that's it.

Zynga. Some companies aren't good for the the games industry, some release crappy games, some have shady business practices, and some do all that and more.

Crapcom, it's one thing thing to simply release bad games it another to destroy classic franchises and have half o a game be locked on disc until the player gives you more of their money. Also their treaent of Mrga Man over the past few years makes me sick 3 canceled games and for the 25th anniversary of the character they make a auto playing social game for ios.

1. EA - They're just a HORRIBLE company. The stuff they make doesn't run properly, they don't bother to fix it, they're assholes to customers, they charge stupid amounts of money for no reason, they've sworn off the whole concept of new IPs, they've sworn off the concept of single-player games, they try and force you to install malware just to play a game you paid for, their games have been almost mediocre or crappy for a looooonnnggg looooooonnnnnggg time now...

2. Activision - They're hyper-greedy money whores. They'll mindlessly run all manner of franchises into the dirt in an effort to squeeze every last penny out of an IP without any notion of quality. They also act like assholes.
Still not as bad as EA tho.

3. Zynga - Fucking USELESS. All they do is blatantly rip off anyone and everyone and sucker people who don't know better into giving them money for useless shit in free games.
Their company is rapidly falling apart though, last I checked, so HA!

Capcom doesn't even begin to rate among the "worst" companies. Capcom has just made some dumb decisions recently (mostly/ESPECIALLY regarding Megaman), and they simply "not generous" with their DLC, which is annoying. But, Capcom tends to be pretty good about releasing games that are GOOD, so it's possible that the Megaman games were axed because they weren't deemed to be good enough.
And Megaman is basically Capcom's mascot, so I could understand a hesitation to mess up Megaman with a less than solid release.
Capcom has said they still have some big stuff in store for Megaman in the near future, so it's not that they're just ignoring Megaman specifically.
As far as DLC is concerned, I'm not sure why people think they're especially bad in that regard... It's totally optional. They set a price, you choose to pay it or not. If it was already on the disc...so what? They could've just as easily NOT put it on the disc and made you DL it instead of unlocking it, and you'd've gained exactly NOTHING, except maybe a longer install time.

*shrug*

Whoever said Valve is just....wrong. Valve just hands out free and ultra-cheap stuff like crazy. They're probably the most customer friendly and benevolent major game company...ever.
Saying the fact that you can only get it through Steam is a bad thing...makes no sense. That's like being annoyed that the only place you can get a BigMac is at MacDonald's...
Steam's patch and update support is PART of Valve's games.
Hell, if you DIDN'T have Steam, you'd not get the insanely huge chunks of free bonus content they always add into their games for years after release. You know how we know? Because you can get Valve games on XBOX and PS3, and they're completely shafted by being separated from Steam support.

There's a lot of terrible videogame companies out there, but which one deserves the crown for being the worst of the worst? Please justify your answer in the comments.
I don't need to justify it. An official committee already labeled EA as the most horrible company in the world. Some group of people with better credentials than I gave this some thought and decided upon it. It doesn't mean that the others aren't guilty of something, but it does render the poll academmic.

Square-Enix for being a shell of its former self neglecting the American market as if they would have had half the success they did without our money.

CAPCOM for being money hungry and deciding to cater more towards the hardcore minority rather than the casual majority a business practice which is actually a contradiction.

EA for being video game nazis who want to eliminate the single player gaming experience. I'm almost shocked that EA and Microsoft arnt owned by the same evil overlord.

Capcom, the other two were shit from the start. Capcom use to make good games until they decided to copy them and started shitting on all their awesome franchises and betraying their fans.

Valve.
Damn them, their DRM and their monopoly on certain games.
Wait, "monopoly on certain games" what does this mean? They send ninja assassins to every dev that tries to do something like Portal or Half-Life? Is that why we haven't seen other people take on those?

OT: I'm surprised Ubisoft isn't on the list. Not that I particularly dislike them...well, not more than what is normal, I suppose, but Ubi usually ends up on lists like these.

As for my answer...dunno, I'm not interested in games in either of these. I think I'm least interested in Activision games, followed closely by EA. And by that I mean I mean that from each's catalogue the amount of games I even care about is the the smallest for Activision and EA.

Does that count?
I think he means that there are more than a few games which are only purchasable through Steam.

Either you can get a Steam copy, or you can't get a legitimate copy of the game at all, which I think is kinda shitty.
While this is true, I'm sort of fuzzy on how Valve forced the developers to do only a Steam release of their game. I thought it wasn't really their doing.

Capcom, although part of me is starting to wander if that company is literally just filled with executives that actually want to do terribly. Like they're making all these terrible terrible decisions, doing all of these horrible things to it's fans that would make even EA blush and have started ruining their franchises because...they simply want their company to die.

I am seriously considering that they are just trying to set up a "Spring time for Hitler" Scenario here..

I know this sounds a bit odd, but think about it...the decisions they have made and the things they have said are just way to deliberately stupid to be anything other then a strange attempt to make their company crash and burn for whatever odd end goal they have in mind.

Valve is pissing me off with Steam lately.
I mean god damn, I can buy the physical edition of a game cheaper than I can buy it on steam half the time (due to living in Australia)
Grow some balls Valve and make Australia prices the same as American.
Also their DRM is a *****.
Then again, I only rant about Valve because they do so many other things right, that these things really get my goat.

As for the worst comapany, in my opinion, EA.
There are many companies that do a far worse job than EA (primarily those who run MMOs) but EA is the largest of them all, so they take the terrible terrible cake.

The difference between Valve and EA is the difference between finding a hair in your soup, and eating hair soup.

i would have to go with zynga. their ga... i meant shits are the worst out there. they are copied, stupid and awful in every aspect of gaming. and they make their ex-employees unable to work anywhere else! all their games are copied and they sue others for copying them.

however i think the evilest company is Blizzard. just in their world of warcraft they have addicted so many to it and continue to milk them for money. by releasing things in the game where you can purchase by money. also subscription fees!

The end prize has to go to EA due to their stupidity and general mis-management/incompetence.

Activision may be a souless corporation and Zynga is the gaming equivalent of a crack dealer but at least they are effective at what they do (make money and peddle skinner boxes respectivly).

You don't have to release PC games on Steam, but its a good idea to due to:

Its digital distrubition hardware and software is already built and works.

A MASSIVE install base.

Has a rabid following who will not buy your game if it isn't on Steam.

So almost everyone uses Steam to take advantage of those points.
