The vast majority of my PMs are group reply notifications nowadays, with the additional badge and/or quote thrown in from time to time.

The rarity of getting a PM actually written by a human makes it happening all the more exciting, however.

Well... Unopened messages about certain badges and times where I'm quoted... Opened messages involving manually-sent PMs, added Friends, and the occasional group message...

What's not automatically deleted is still in my inbox to this day... (I'm too lazy to delete stuff myself...)

Disappointment. Oh snap!

...and now I made myself sad. But seriously, just quote notifications, and maybe the odd friend request.

Quotes or notifications that I've gotten a new badge. The latter I frankly don't care about in the slightest.

"Oh boy! A message in my inbox! Did someone quote me and say something insightful and interesting on the forums? Have i been mentioned in a user group with various hi-jinx and merriment? Did that person finally respond to my PM? I can't wait to find out!"

Very much this. Now I feel like a prick for getting your hopes up.

I guess I never say anything worth talking about.

Quotes mainly. Sometimes PMs including the numbers of the women I have successfully seduced.

See you at bingo, ladies.

Nowadays?
News: $2.50 Reviews: XXXXXXXXX(YYYY)

When I first joined it was tons of badges, cause I know what's important in life. Nowadays, the badges are rarer though.
Which reminds me, I need to read through my review backlog again.

I tend to have $2.50 reviews as well, with the occasional quote or more rarely a badge (I rarely hunt for them anymore).

Most of the time it's usually quotes from sometimes random people agreeing but most of the time it's the same usual people with the same usual reply or retort and I just can't help but make this face for every time I see one or two notifications in my inbox:

I'm starting to think as the days go by that I just flat out won't reply to such quotes since I'm always being thrown into a forced debate by the person quoting me and I'm not always up for a hateful slap on the face "I'm right you're wrong!" type debate.

I love to get quote notifications, but most of the time I get system messages and the occasional group news post.

Nothing! The last time the message icon was yellow was four months ago when I randomly got a badge. So I suppose that means most of the time it is just badge or system notifications.

Quote notifications, either telling me I'm right about everything and should be made Presidente for Life, or wrong about this and therefore everything else and literally Hitler.

Just once I'd like for someone to quote me with ambivalence, like "you have said stuff, however, I have no strong feelings on the issue". It's probably never going to happen, but, you know, a man can dream. Apathy isn't that unthinkable, is it?

Generally nothing. People don't often quote me, I don't fish for badges and I don't get PM'd either.

It's all well enough. I come here for videos and news.

So many badges... Whenever I see the notification I feel important until I realise it's for yet another badge I accidentally acquired.

It's usually people who can't understand the brilliance of my comments and need further clarification, other times it's people reminding me of how awesome my comments are, not that I actually NEED reminding mind you.

Sometimes it's for a badge I got from taking a quiz but I don't really care about those so much.

I'm usually quoted....

Well, that's the most likely thing I get in my inbox....

Although I do get group notifications from the brony fandom here for birthdays (occasionally) or youtube links for episodes (weekly)

But more often than not, I'll say something someone likes/dislikes or I'll make a stupid challenge to the internet where people shame me within 5 minutes...

But yeah, usually that...

Just system messages, but not many. Then again as I do not put myself out there or even post with any regularity besides those few days where I feel somewhat more brave then normal, the only one to blame for my barren inbox is myself.

But never fear dear readers, for I have recently tipped my inbox over and now it houses adorable internet kitties.

Badges, badges, a quote!, and another badge.

That's generally how that song and dance goes. I like the shiny badges, but sadly it's gained me no friends... Which reminds me i lack badges for exactly that. Anyone wanna exchange friend requests? :p

I also get group notifications every now and then, but only the news posts since i disabled the chat notes after coming home from vacation once and finding about 250+ items in my inbox.

Bacon, obviously. Was there ever any doubt? The Escapist sends me really good bacon through the messaging system.
