SNES, I get all nostalgia choked whenever I hear some tunes on that SPC700 sound processor, it had a certain quality to it, also some downright classics that I think have aged well, some of the early 3d games didn't age so well but SNES era 2d games still look great (heck, even some NES era 2d games are still great (SMB3, Ninja Gaiden, and the Megaman series))..

Super Metroid
Chrono Trigger
FF6/3
Super Mario World
Super Mario All Stars
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Earthbound
Tales of Phantasia (oh how I WISH this had come out in the states on the SNES)
Megaman X
Secret of Mana (and I wish Seiken Densetsu III had come stateside too)
Plus of course tons of others but man I loved that platform.

I cannot believe you didn't include XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 in the poll! The 26 people that voted "Other" meant either XBOX 360 or PS3, the rest were lying. Those oldschool hardcore gamers can suck it!

The SNES. only one game made me pick it. Metroid prime 3. I hated that game back then and i love it now. ITs that good.

Also For all of you guys who are saying "What about the new ones" You cant say of all time fro those you know why? something stupid could happen. like Nintendo buys off Sony and Microsoft (lol rather unlikely but...) with all of their dirty casual gamer money and make a weird "XboWiiS3" forcefully ending the console wars.

Hmm, I would have to toss it between the Playstation (1) and the Xbox. Truth be told, this generation sucks.
Says the man with a 360.
Don't give me that. I've played the PS3 several times, and deemed it not worth spending money on.

This generation in general isn't that great. There are quite a few good games, but not as plentifully as last generation or the generation before that.

couldn't afford consoles when i was young.
My first(and only) console was the Xbox360, so i guess that's my favourite?
But if the PC would be considered a console somehow...well, that would be a different story.

Dreamcast, and that's for 2 major reasons.

1) There was a fairly large library available for a console that had such a short run on the market, and some of the games can still outperform modern titles, at least in the overall entertainment factor.

2) The console inspired some of the largest advancements in technology that's known today. Built in modems, online stores, motion sensing periferals that didn't suck total ass, and extentions to games while you weren't playing them (I'm looking at you, Sonic Adventure 2). Plus, a majority of the design ideas were taken and plunked directly into the original xbox. If you think otherwise, put both controllers side by side, and you'll see that it's pretty much the SAME THING.

Overall, the most entertaining console I ever owned.

I gotta say I loved my N64 (the games were amazing and best multiplayer ever), But i picked Dreamcast cause it had one of my most favorite games ever Powerstone 2 plus it was simple and reminded me alot more of why i got into gaming into first place....(plus mine was a sega household, Now a home to all consoles)

In general the 360 because nostalgia turns out to be overrated when you actually go back and play the games you used to love as a kid. but for its time definitely the SNES. Super mario world, kirby superstar and sparkster instantly come to mind when i think of its greatness.

uh, ok, any poll wth "favourtie console ever" should probably have every console on it. the "other" option doesnt count.

I had some of my best video game memories playing my SNES: mastering hadokens, learning how to glide through the air as Mario, zooming past Bowser as he fell into the darkness from my well placed green shell on Rainbow Highway, traveling through time as Chrono to save the world, punching my way through the stereotypes with the green gloved wonder kid, facing down Gannon with my silver arrows, knocking Mother Brain's head back and fourth with my super missiles, eating pizza and throwing foot soldiers at the screen with everyone's favorite heroes in a half shell, and beating up baddies with my baby controlled mech suit. Those were the days.
