I am proud of my gluttony with respect to wrath. Nothing makes you feel alive like roundhouse kicking a body bag until your shins go numb.

Hello fellow escapists, this thread is search-bar approved and also my first official thread. Woohoo, grats to me, yadda yadda.

To the topic of discussion. What is your favorite sin, and why? Also, how do you feel about the others? This is the internet afterall, so I'm expecting a lot of sloth and pride answers, especially since we're all hardcore gamers here. Also, I accept ties for first place, but your explanation better be good!

So, I'll start. Mine is wrath. I've come to the rather unfortunate realization that I enjoy being angry at people. Not so much being right during an internet argument sort of thing, I'm talking about real life. When people annoy me at work, I enjoy snapping back at them, or telling them to get the hell out of my store and take their snotty attitude with them. Or at my father, who yes, did something terrible to me and my family about a decade ago that I still haven't forgiven him for despite everyone else doing so a while ago. I gain a rather sick sense of pleasure from it, though I'm working on it.

I used to be pretty bad about sloth and pride, I was an elitist prick in highschool. But after moving out on my own and being with a very outgoing but not very booksmart girl for about 4 years I learned those things about myself took far more from me than they ever gave back, and I'm glad to be mostly rid of their influence.

Greed, envy and gluttony are essentially the same thing to me, and I've never been particularly drawn by material possessions or what other people have and I don't, I appreciate what's mine.

Lust is an odd one for me though. In my relationships I did have a lot of sex and I do still think about it a lot but.. due to some physiological and psychological issues sex has always been more about expressing my feelings to another person physically and not so much about my own pleasure.

So, now that my wall o' text is out of the way, add your own views below!
Well, this should obvious.................LUST

I have an odd fascination with people. Some say I'm a just a horny fuck. But, I'm a virgin. Big ass spoiler, right? Others say I'm a hedonist.......................So what?

Any sin could be interpreted as lust of hedonism.

Wrath is bloodlust.
Greed is lust for money or power.
Pride is lust for self-perfection, self-assurance and elitism.
Sloth is the pleasure of sleep and laziness.
Gluttony is love for food or drink.
Envy is lust for what others' possess.

So, naturally, I'll pick the best one. Lust.

Of all, Greed. Mostly because its my motivator to most things I do. and because he makes an awsome villan/anti-hero (cookie for anyone who gets what I'm saying).
Full Metal Alchemist? OT I would have to go with sloth, with greed and wrath tied for a close second.

Pride is my favourite as there is no way to overcome it. Almost everything you do will be a result of pride and every act will all be for the greater glory of yourself. We could all suffer from this and not even know it.
You can't win against it of course, but you can fight it. Just do nice things and don't tell anyone about it.

I've donated money to charity, blood to the red cross and volunteered at nursing homes on several occasions, but none of my friends or family know that I've done any of those things. You just take a quiet moment in the dark to pat yourself on the back for doing the right thing, and also being at least slightly better than most people and you move on :) Feels good!
But the patting yourself on the back means it is still an act of pride. If you're doing the right thing to be "slightly better than most people," then you are doing it out of pride, rather than doing a selfless act of love (which I believe is possible). The problem is ego gets in the way. Get the ego to shut up, and then you can authentically connect with someone and help them purely for the sake of making someone's life better, instead of doing it to feel like a "slightly better person." I'm not saying feeling good about it won't be a result of it, but it won't be the reason for doing it, if it's ego-less.

EDIT: I forgot to answer the OT. I like lust the best, but my sloth keeps me from doing any lustful activites (besides the ones in my mind).

Gluttony. Lust is overrated, with all sorts of complications. But gluttony, gluttony is a nice and simple satisfying of appetites.

... I love you. I just re-read THUD!

OT: Wrath is my favorite sin, even though I preach non-aggressive solutions. Anger feels GOOOOOD.

Most of the others don't come up in my day-to-day life... and lust doesn't seem to apply when I'm not going for my own physical pleasure, but for someone else's.
I appreciate your affection, I like your name as well (I have some irish in me. I can't help it!) ;)

Also, I say it now and forever, the best sex in life is two people who are competing to see who can make the other enjoy it more.
I think that instead of lust when it comes to sex, pride is my deal. I take GREAT pride in... well... *insert long, obscene, and fun description here*.

Wrath, because I know how to control mine. ;)

But... that would kinda not make it Wrath then, wouldn't it?

Yes, I get fulfillment out of it that I am being a good person. My point being that I know a lot of people are very "yeah whatever" about humanity in general and it feels good to make a difference, even when so many are convinced that we can't. I would say no matter what you do, there's always a part of yourself that enjoys something on a personally selfish level, it's just being human. But the fact of the matter is if you do something kind for another person, it doesn't even really matter if you didn't have 100% pure Christ-like intentions for it, just that you did it. I don't do the things I do so I can feel superior, though that is a bit of an aftereffect I have to deal with, it's to do the right thing by other people. And taking that first step of doing things for other people and not receiving a reward or even simple praise is the best way to remind yourself that you can be better.

Now Pride is a sin i can get behind at all times. Its the perfect motivator and it allows you to become more than what you thought was possible. Its the only sin with an uncertain result, aka it can backfire. With this since of uncertainty it allows life to be interesting again. Every other sin is a know conclusion before it happens, wrath leads to more wrath, lust leads to more lust, but pride can lead to more or less pride. Also pride doesnt consume you, you consume it. Pride is a companion always at your side you can accept him with the uncertainty that he bring or you can turn him away.

I will have pride follow me in every action i do in this life. it would be boring without it.

Well...
I'm a Sadist so...
A little bit of wrath, pride and sloth thrown in and that just about sums up my sinning.

Well, almost all apply to me...
So Lust. It's my favorite, but not necessarily the one that describes me...

I generally tend to do 3-5 sins a day, but I think my favorite is sloth. Ah, sitting on my ass all day, great.
