They're wimps. As per Maddox statements, they only attack people on things like this when it's convenient for them. Call them out, do your job to eat more animals.

Having naked women holding signs does not make me want to become a vegetarian. It makes me want to have sex with women. These aren't even close to the same thing. There's a joke about "my meat" in here, but I'm far too high brow for that.
"I bet they'd love to eat my meat"? "I'd make them reconsider their vegetarianism"? "I'd Show them my Meat and Two veg"?
I love being low brow.
Oh how bout I got a protein shake for her.

They lost a lot of their credibility with the anti-BF3 crap.

yeah coz thats when they lost credibility /end sarcasm
Lol - We don't have PETA in New Zealand, so didn't know anything about them. After doing some research though, they seem a bit off... Killing like 80% of the animals they "rescue" seems a little counter-productive...

Edit: I'd probably give up a steak or two for the red head...

Sure, animal cruelty is wrong, but they take it way off hand.

I.E. the Battlefield 3 stabbing rats situation.
aye, and they didn't get over elder scrolls, either. in that, b'zillion rats have died. just shows how misguided, and ignorant they are.

I watched a documentary recently about a zoo in America that keeps tigers, lions, apes ect because some people like to have them as pets but they can't handle them as they get bigger. Several times PETA have apparently wrongly told many people that the animals are badly treated without any proof just to drive away the money they desperately need to keep these animals alive and in good condition.

I mean there is no way of knowing if they are badly treated but they didn't look like it to me, I can see PETA pulling this crap all over the place to be honest, I mean what was up with porn stars stripping whilst promoting PETA? Trying to get teenage boys to join their cause? xD

Nom Nom Nom Nom, I am eating your animals, what are you going to do about it? With out humans wanting to eat animals, a lot of them would not be in such large numbers. We may have pigs to extinction with out our desire to eat them. Why would we need to make room for them, if their land is the perfect spot to place a new wheat plantation.

What's next, they're gonna get all over Capcom's ass because we're essentially beating up a wolf (Amaterasu) and a (Rocket) raccoon in their newest fighting game?

I think they're a bunch of stuck up, stupid, ignorant, ego-tistical eco-terrorists who wouldn't know common sense if you smacked them with a nine iron. I'm all for animals being treated fairly, but I don't see anything wrong with eating them, keeping them as pets or using them as beasts of burden, so long as they are kept well and not mistreated.
>>Jeremy Clarkson Avatar.

But I generally agree with this. They have the freaking annoying tendency to relate animals to humans... Giving them human levels of 'rights' that they probably don't even fucking care about.

I remember once that they had a go at a load of African chicken farmers for bunching the chickens too close together. Well, I'm sorry... But fuck the rights of the freaking chickens. People will die if they don't have those chickens... And here is where the real ball buster comes in. Chickens PREFER to be bunched together. It keeps them warm, and helps them socially. They aren't oppressed, or mistreated. They are brought up in a safe, warm, friendly environment and are fed well. Just because if you replace chickens with humans in that scenario, it will look like a fucking concentration camp.

News flash, animals aren't fucking people, and therefore should not be treated as such. Sure we should look out for them, and help them anyway we can, but that whole stabbing the rat thing on battlefield... Whats the point? Afraid you might offend rats? Get over yourself PeTA, you're giving animal conversationalists a bad name. They are the good people, not you?

What PETA is saying is that it's okay to be a cannibal.

If not, then they're hypocrites.

My opinion on PETA is easily summed up by a quote that's been stuck in my brain for so many years I no longer remember where I originally read it:"Run. They are lying to you."

Voted "Ignorant" on the poll, because neither misguided nor foolish really cover what seems to me the best description: intentionally deceptive.

Can I pick all of them except 'Positive' and 'other'?

Seriously, I'm all for animal rights, but these guys take it to such a ridiculous extreme they give the whole animal rights movement a bad name.
Couldn't agree more.

I'm all for ending cruelty towards animals, but using animals as beasts of burden, or even more importantly, for food is not cruelty in and of itself. Animals don't really have to suffer in any measurable sense to serve these needs.

PETA conflates anything other than letting animals roam free with cruelty however, and is also picking completely absurd subjects to harp on about. Recently it's included killing rats in BF3. A few years ago they were asking terrorists to not strap bombs to donkeys (I wish I were kidding about that one).

It's that sort of crap that undermines whatever credibility they may have, and subverts any reasonable argument they may actually try to make. They are their own, and their causes, worst enemy. I actually tend to lose respect these days for anyone who openly and actively supports them for precisely these reasons.

The idea of Peta is cool with me, but the actual group is just...

Know what? Just take every negative post and lump those together, and say thats my thoughts on them, as I dont have the time or the energy to state ALL the reasons I hate them now.

As for how they could do better? Dont, just stop period. Just like the eco-terrorists that want people to stop cutting trees down by fire bombing lumber mills, you are being counter-productive to your own fucking goals.

They're a well meaning organisation that have ideals I can respect but unfortunately they have a very vocal minority of whiny attention seeking pricks.

I think they should all go die in a fire...there was a report they had to submit to one state's government a while ago that showed they put down over 95% of all animals in their care. And they're very inconsistent, which is annoying.
