lol I cant mention every 2.5D game that would take ages!

But did you enjoy them. or do you enjoy the style or the simplicity.

Side scrollers are generally more fun. Nicer graphics are nicer to look at.

Street Fighter IV of course, as far as I see it's the epitome of 2.5D.

Yeah, they're alright. Some are fun, some are far too addictive to be healthy and some are just bog-standard.

Viewtiful Joe and Castle Crashers come to mind as fun and addictive ones.

I very much like 2.5D. It takes advantage of the simplicity of 2D while having the looks of 3D. Where are the downsides!?

I like them if they're done right. I don't play on my Xbox 360, but the last "2.5D" game I played was Trine for the PC, and with friends it's a real blast.

I particularly like the ones w/ hand-drawn sprites. It would totally sweet to me if I could play a sidescroller game that looked like Blazblue.

But yeah, I love 2D gameplay, so 2.5D is great.

For those who do not know a 2.5D game is a game with 3D environments and characters but you can only control that character up/down or left/right.
And just for the record, even though I'm kinda nitpicking, I'm fairly sure that the actual definition of "2.5D" is 2D range of movement combined w/ any sort of 3D. Not just 2D movement w/ all 3D characters and backgrounds. It could be a 3D character combined w/ 2D backgrounds and enemies (think Sonic Rush).

All the fun of a 2D game (see Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus, Super Smash Bros series, Metroid), and they look just as nice as all the other games.

Sorry, I just figured that we shouldn't confuse the 2.5D-uninitiated gamers. Because, what if by some terrible catastrophe they didn't like 'Splosion Man, but loved New Super Mario Bros., but didn't know that New SMB was a 2.5D game. They might be inclined to vote that they don't really care for 2.5D and would rather just have 2D or 3D.

That's the only reason I nitpicked.
