I began watching Into the West again, the TV miniseries released in 2005. The basic gist of it is a long narrative of American expansion into the west between the 1820's and 1890's.

In the first episode, they speak of the Lakota medicine wheel, and of how every person is born with one of four virtues. Strength, Wisdom, Courage, or Generosity. Everyone is born with just one of these, and may find the others throughout their lifetime.
Now regardless of what you think of the Lakota and/or Native American spirituality, or any religion in general, I think it is fair to ask the simple question: which of these virtues do you believe you were born with? And why do you think it is that one and not the others?
I believe mine is generosity - it's never been easy for me to see any form of suffering or sadness and not try to make things better. Coupled with my interest in becoming some degree of an EMT, and I think it's fair to say this is mine.
