There are lots of things in Minecraft out to kill you. Even on peaceful, you aren't immune from the game over screen. My question is: What is your most common cause of death?

Oh and Notch, if you're reading. I'd be really curious if you have some kinda stats on this.

I kinda accidentally died a lot last night from lava I used to "make my house pretty" and then totally screwed up after having it perfect.

Yeah, it kinda sucked, but that's what happens when you get too silly.

Skeletons, definately. I don't visit the Nether often enough to count Ghasts as a real threat.

After that, I probably die the most from falls.

Although, once you gain enough resources to make a diamond sword and iron/diamond armour, the only thing that will kill you quickly is lava or a point blank creeper explosion.

Lava.

Falling.

Falling into Lava.

Also, being blasted by Creeperes, flying through the air, and falling into lava, all rolled into one.

Did I mention I recently removed the Lava moat from around my home?

A cross between skeletons and falling, however, I recently found a way to avoid the majority of skeleton fire to get close enough. Dodge n' weave, dodge n' weave.

So probably just falling, I find no problem with the mobs on Minecraft.

Other - water (unless you want to lop that in with water).

Usually I forget where I am and will tunnel up and have the area flood and then I die. THen I have ot trek half way acorss the world, find the leak, plug it, then go back and find my entrance and restart.

its all very... tedious.

Surprise skeleton ambush and ambush by creeper. I'm very careful around lava and I don't think I've ever died by zombie.

Creepers make me literally want to VOMIT FIRE. expecially if you downloaded the Greifer Creepers mod that randomly explode your stuff. Lava and Ghasts are a close second, however, which is why I rarely visit the Nether.

Creepers hardly ever bother me, mainly because I have a good work ethic and rarely go outside my house. It's just falling, because the character can't seem to jump off a bunk bed without breaking his legs.

Skeletons.

Being caught in crossfire from multiple skeletons.
Being sniped at by skeletons I can't even see (seems to happen a lot when I got outside in bad weather)
Being knocked back by skeletons as I try to get into melee range if they catch me with no bow.
Being pinned down then killed by a skeleton up above me... somewhere... in the dark.

Yeah, recently skeletons have been scoring quite a few kills on me. It used to be spiders, but I've got better at handling them recently, and my current architectural mood has lots of narrow gaps that they can't get through. I've yet to encounter a skeleton riding a spider - though I did encounter my first ever Slimes a couple of days ago, which was cool, if momentarily nerve wracking when I heard an unfamiliar noise and had no idea what was making it.

Falling and lava, and usually when I'm on my way back from a massive mining expedition so I lose a shit ton of valuable materials.

My most common death would be falling because my shift key randomly stops working. Also: falling through the ground when logging in and getting suffocated.
