Should probably get a road bike because I mostly ride on roads. Not really worth the money with the amount of cycling I do which isn't much any more.

Yes! it's like riding a bike is apprantely something everyone can do for some reason.

I've got a Mountain Bike. It's fairly old and is cobbled together but it works and it won't get stolen. So I'm good

I don't have anything these days, but I had a succession of mountain bikes as a kid/teenager. Haven't ridden since I was about 18 on account of not really needing to. I'd like to get back into cycling but I'd need a road bike - in retrospect, having a mountain bike was completely redundant when living in the flattest part of the country.
