I'm german...sooooo
but otherwise i would also drive a german car...cause they're THAT good ;P
p.s.: BMW 325i 2.5L 160kw(218PS)
Only in Europe, elsewhere they have the "it's europian and therefore marketed as being upper class, multiply the cost of everything by 10". $100k for a 3 series/c class/A4 is a fucking joke. [sub]I'm saving for an oldschool 911, they are sexy, cheap, sexy and will run forever.[/sub]
At the moment I'm driving a 1994 nissan pulsar Q pack (that's the n14 for those of you who know about these things, the one they made a rally car out of. Mine is not the GTiR however). It has a gas conversion, so basicially I'm cruising around in what is possibly the cheapest car to run in melbourne. The only way I can maintain any dignity is that it's at least a manual (I'm studying mechanical engineering, my car is kind of a running joke among my uni mates).
Like I said above, I plan on buying an old porsche and doing it up sometime in the near future, but it's looking like I have to wait until 25 unless I want the generic discrimination tax. The media makes out that young males are the most dangerous drivers, yet there are 3 other groups that are far more likely to be involved in a crash (statisticially, it's kinda retarded to judge the likelyness of one to be involved in a crash based on anything other than average time spent driving during the period of time and overall experience). (Both male and female over 65s, accounting for 8% of all accidents in the state of victoria, not particularly scary until you realise they account for 7% of drivers...damn fucking scary when you realise they don't typicially have to drive across town to work/uni/whatever, the other high demographic being 35-45 year old males, not sure why). Anyway, that got off topic fast, I tend to get angry when I think about the driving restrictions that both the state government and insurance companys force upon me.
My favorite cars are british (particularly Aston Martins, but I love some of the older Jags and Minis), both german and japanese cars also appeal to me (especially porsches and non-impreza subarus) however there are general traits I dislike about both (german cars tend to be absurdly expensive in Australia and japanese cars tend to be associated with douchebags, I also hate the "soft" SUV trend, which both countries seem to export a lot of).
