In MMOrpg or any game that allow you to create your own character,I usually create a staff chick [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StaffChick] with healing abilities.

Eliras Dawnstrider. Human Cleric. Now and forever.

For the glory of Pelor! The Fa'shi shall be avenged!

Seriously, Cleric (as in, armored (un)holy warrior) tend to be the best characters in any game, simply because of their sheer versatility.

Rogue, I like to steal things, I like to make traps, and I just generally like to hit hard fast and smart from right behind you :p

It depends. I prefer to be the magic user, but in a lot of games that isn't very easy to do so I end up being the guy with the broadsword or machine gun, basically a tank.
In a lot of games, spellcasters are better from afar, but your party members won't attack the enemy if you're not close to it, so then you gotta break out the swords. *sighs*

Anything from a distance.
Ranger, Archer, Bowman, Hunter, Thief...
and so on so forth.
and even in modern/futuristic RPGS i choose the long ranged class.
Inflitrator from Mass Effect for example.

I've been playing either a paladin or Cleric since 1989 in D&D so any game I play that has either of those two choices, thats where I gravitate towards
Wow a real Veteran, alright everyone, lets give him around of virtual Applause *Claps*
Thanks I guess lol... wait... are you being facetious?
What? No I;m being polite, I always Salute Veterans of gaming, people who played games that I enjoy before I was even born. (I was born in 1990)

Give me a sword and some minor spells and I'm good. I tend to avoid mages but I do like summoners. Thieves are fun too.

In D&D-based games, I'll often play a Bard (despite their almost invariable suckiness) since it's closest to my actual esoteric skillset (and level of suckiness.)
Sorcerer if I want to play a class that actually gets some love. And I'll take levels of Dragon Disciple when I can - because if I really could, I really would.

In other settings, I will always, always, always pick something magical (at least the first time 'round), and preferably dragon-related.

In most cases, I am the basic warrior/fighter/soldier.

I'm a guy who likes to dive into the action. Spells and magic are great to use, but I prefer just sticking to something sharp and awinging it at a monster's head.

I've always loved the ranger class. Ranged attacks but still good in melee, with the whole nature thing going on. Definitely my sort of class.

No I find a Bard to be useful, but only if the party has three or more characters, below that and they won't work.

BTW Try A Dragon Born Dragon Socorer, it works very nicely
