I usually play a hybrid of either a fighting/stealth type or a fighting/magic type, although I tend to lean towards the former more

I'm usually the fighter, but I also like playing the hunter or ranger. Gotta love picking people off from a long distance :) But right now i'm playing a 3.5ed Psionic Warrior forgot how awesome they can be
The brought them back for Darksun, thats right you can have Psionic classes now ^_^
Which reminds me...I have to go buy that

I was in a lot of Warcraft: Roleplaying Clans back-in-the-day. That was truly fun.

When i play tabletop ones, i usually play support classses like Cleric, so the party survives better. If i can avoid playing the support, im rogue all the way.

Of course, it depends on the game system (tabletop) or just the game itself (say, on PC). Some game favors X class and break/nerf the others.

Ex: Oblivion mages/magic are the uncontested supreme overlord of everything while rogue/warrior are just.. redundant, since magic does -eveything- they do but better. While DnD 4th seems to be reasonably equal between the classes.

Everybody on the left, shout it out: NIN!
Everybody on the right, shout it out: JA!

I love stealth characters. Ninjas, rogues, Wood Elves with 100% Chameleon suits...

realistically, the closest class I can be is probably a level 2 expert in D&D.

Or, if we're going with the notion that magic = technology, maybe a commoner 1 / adept 1.

but ideally? I'd want to be a bard.

Some type of rogue or ranger class usually.
I like playing more...squishy classes (ones with low hit points/ defence) it keeps things interesting. Generally I find the warrior class to be very very boring.
