Although I like being in Teh Front and shooting everything that moves (dammit! Friendly Fire :p), I like being in the shadows and kill everything that passes by me :D

I like being able to jump roles when the need appears. Call me a dirty oppertunitist but thats the path that seems the most effectual to me, in any situation. I have to apply this to MMO's since I'm about as accurate with a gun as I am with throwing my socks across the room into the wash basket. I play a Paladin or Warrior-healer for that very reason, being so versitile like that allows me to be useful no matter the situation and I like being that.

If theres no such thing within the game I tend to play the healer then.

Outright DPS can turn into dickwaving competitions with the local tweeny-douches pathetically quickly and it really turns me off that role (Says the currently Retri-spec Paladin /irony)

And Charging onto the front lines with narry a plan but spam everything and hope it works without you dying is just far too reckless for my tastes.

The healer has some measure of control who lives and dies, when it's time to high tail it out of there, when best to pull a stunt from healing to attacking when least expected. It's not the ideal role for me. But that's why I've taken to the Warcraft Paladin so well.

FPS: Frontliner/Suicidal
RTS: "Support" in that I prefer base building and economic management to any battlefield uncertainty.
RPG: Close combat

Sneaky bastard, hiding in bushes and cardboard boxes and sniping people in the head. If that´s not applicable, I rely on speed, rather than force, and charge my way through as fast as possible. So, I´m a wuss who goes into a panic-stricken frenzy when confronted face to face.

Mixed, depending on the game in question, the map I'm playing on, the game mode and how I feel at any given time.

In UT on deathmatch I often work on finding the best routes through the levels to the weapons/pickups I favour and work my way around them, continually moving and blitzing anything that gets in my way as I slowly turn into an unstoppable juggernaut. On CTF/Vehicle CTF maps that have decent sniper points I switch to distance killing or tanking if there is one and play defensively. On Warfare I usually blast my way into the enemies bases in the biggest vehichle I can find and go purely offensive until we can reach the cores.

On Warhawk I tend to stick to piloting the hawks, usually offering aerial support for ground forces. I may or may not switch to sniping/air striking at any given time. I rarely play defense on Warhawk.

On TF2 I like to play spy and generally fuck the other team up. Sometimes go suicidal rusher and either play soldier or pyro.

I never play anything that involves healing.

Support. In TF2 I'm always the medic until it's shown that something else is needed, and in L4D I tend to grab the sniper rifle and do a lot of hiding and pistol shooting. I'm not a good sniper, but for some reason it comes naturally for me in L4D: I can headshot a hunter off of somebody at any range, and quickly enough that the damage animations glitch and blood is flying everywhere around the location that the pounce took place. Always good for a laugh, but mostly they just appreciate the instant rescues from a team player who pays attention.

Then there was my Monk (healer) in Guild Wars, Monk/Assassin; I had teleporting and the assassin defense skills along with low-mana-cost healing, a stamana-healer. What really made me good however, was my willingness to NOT HEAL somebody because they were being stupid. If a foolish tank is soaking up DPS because he doesn't know what a defense skill is, then my healing is better spread over the 6 other people whom I CAN save. Most monks complain about not being thanked for being a healer, I got thanked every time, because I was good at it.

This one time x3 it was so awesome, was a 16 player room and we had just finished a 4 wave massacre of countless enemies, and for some reason all the healers decided to broadcast their remaining mana (via ctrl+clicking the mana bar I believe) so I did the same...

Healer1: 2/40
Healer2: 6/50
Meeeeee: 42/50

And it wasn't because I wasn't healing anybody either. Stamana build *thumbsup* Lots of signets.

I can support rather well in RTS games with resource feeding and stuff but when it comes to FPS I either suicide rush consitently or snipe.

It depends on the game. As a general set of rules, I prefer to work alone (fewer grenades that way, and less chance of being randomly killed). I tend to favor being in the action and as such rarely will I snipe. As a result I often favor the use of shotguns or similar weapons. In some games (such as COD4) where I work alone, I tend to favor a solid multi-purpose weapon rather than one with tremendous close range firepower.

I like sniping alot but I'm more of a fan of being a support character. I don't mean carefully aiming large bombardments, that's kinda boring and annoying, but sometimes I like to hang back from the front line and help someone else who's out there, usually from afar (with a sniper)

EDIT: RTS games I like to turtle (no rush, large defenses and slow but huge attack force) or in team matches I take defense and tell my allies to go offense. I get a strange satisfaction from seeing several lines of defenses to take out an enemy attack force

Depends on the game. While I was playing WoW I liked the ranged glass cannon approach of the mage & crowd control. In CoD4 I play aggressive and try to get to close range, always rushing forward. In GRAW on the other hand I was more the sniper type.

Yeah i am a suicide rusher I guess. I do not care if I live or die, as long as my target is epically blown to a billion pieces.

Hmm, Kind of hard to say, since I don't really play shooters but...

I suppose that when playing S4 League, ive become good at placing high(if not first) on the scoreboards without making a single touchdown just because I make suicide rushes for the ball so I can keep it away from our goal and closer to the opponent's goal. I die 70% of the time, but because I get the ball almost to the goal, the teammate that does get it in scores the point as an Assist. Suicide Rush for the team's victory, lol.
