Just a quick poll to see the escapists demographic.

Since we all like video games to an extent, choose the option that comes close to matching your gamer power level, if there is one.

And for discussion, how open are you about your nerdiness? And what was the moment in your life that made you this way?

edit: fixed poll

Video game (RPGs, fighters, eroge especially), animanga (eclectic genres), and D&D (well...tabletop RPG) nerd.

Actually, nerds can, too. I think it's dorks that don't.

You missed one, I guess I would be a computer "nerd" but I have the social skills so I don't know what you would say. (computer as in tech head as well as in games, like none of that D&D fantasy stuff, or any of the heavy Sci-fi)

If we're using the word nerd. A cross breed between gaming and anime/manga.
Don't cross the streams! ...I don't know why I felt compelled to say that. Anyway, what Rakkana said.

I'm a mix of Video game, Sci-Fi, and Comic book. While I do have some mild interest in those other fields, video games, sci-fi, and comic books are of the greatest interest to me.

I don't believe in 'Nerds'
Too many variations of the word.
I don't think there's even a set definition.

D&D Nerd, and Manga/Anime Nerd...

Plus, as opposed to Sci-Fi, I'm actually a Fantasy Nerd. Also Wargames (Ie Warhammer, Warhammer 40k), although that could be termed loosely under D&D I suppose...

Gaming.

And purely gaming at that.

I don't watch movies, anime, TV series. I just...play games.

Hell, I still ain't seen the original Star Wars trilogy. To give you an idea of how rarely I watch movies.

I don't really feel comfortable calling myself a specific kind of nerd, since if I were to hang out with other nerds of that kind, I would probably not be able to talk much to them. Still, I am definitely a nerd; merely an unspecific one.

I'm some sort of a bizarre hybrid of nerd/curmudgeon. I like my computers...hell, it's what my career entails....D&D, video games, Sci-fi, etc. While socially functional, I tend to not like the vast majority of people I'm around yet I have a great sense of humor. I guess I'm walking contradiction.

Music geek. Aspiring movie geek.

But overall, I would say I'm a part time geek or "dabbler". I definately have a nerdy side, but its hardly what defines me.
