If we've a true hero doing the saving, my individual merits (or lack thereof) shouldn't particularly matter.

Fairly creative topic, actually. Bravo, op.
Thanks. This is less about the hero though, and more about self examination! What do you think makes you kick ass?
Well, I did find a certain appreciation for Zen/Mindfulness, which puts me significantly closer to enlightenment than most sheeple.

On the other hand, I'm not a very dedicated adherent.

"I'm the one everyone offers as a sacrifice!" was my choice as the fellow who's too introspective to satisfy the status quo is oft the case.

I'm worth saving because I'm strong, smart, resourceful and most of all, if I'm not saved, I will start breaking necks. Do we have an understanding?

Ahhh....A deep thinker. One who sees things for what they are. Interesting. I think you would be an interesting person to discuss the paths of the human race with. But that is either in private, or another thread.

Thanks for the input!

Someone who knows what they want, and knows how to get it! Sounds like you'll be just fine!

I consider myself an average of everybody. If you want a prime average specimen, then look no further than me.

I'm also good with stories, so I've got a couple of thousand plot synopsis saved to my head.

I'm kind to creatures, also people and any other entity I'm likely to meet in my adventures with the one who saved me, and believe me, there would be adventures.

Also, I think if I was the only one saved I would at least represent the human race better than Arthur Dent. He was definitely a survivor, but why does he act like an idiot?

I'm cold, calculating, and when need be violent. I've been involved in sports and hiking since I was 5, which has lead to me being in great shape.

When it comes to special skills: I can sow clothing, cook anything, and given time I can build pretty much anything out of wood.

Word to the wise though, if we're starving I will crack you in the head and eat you.
Survivalist to a fault? Yeah, people will save you, and then you will save them. Or eat them. Whatever happens first.

A storyteller? No doubt the hero would love that. And a representative? Always useful.

My life is worth no more than any other mans life. But no other mans life is worth more than mine. That's all I have to say. Although, if the world was to face a certain doom - and a hero could only save a few hundred people; I wouldn't really care if I didn't get saved; cause neither did 6 billion other people.

I'm a pilot, a college students, and I'm funny. I'm pretty fun of the mill and all, so I guess they'd flip a coin for me.

I had a dark thought about whether humanity was worth saving at all, but decided instead to see what you guys think about it.

In the case of world shattering disaster, where a flying hero, or whatever you want to save people, shows up, would you be one of the important people worth saving? What skills do you have to make sure you will be saved? Do you even have skills worth saving?

Just think about it. What makes you special enough to be saved from certain doom?
Honestly nothing. I really do feel we live in a society where art takes a backseat to everything else. Even though art and entertainment are some of the biggest industries out there, for any real artist to be able to make a living out of their lives takes an awful lot of sacrifice and being taken advantage of by bigger companies cashing in on said talent.

Besides if the world was ending and it was the last Battlestar of the planet with only 1 seat available, I'm pretty sure random artist would take a backseat to Dr. Gaius Baltar.

Well it depends on how harsh the grading criteria is, but I think I am a reasonable human sample for a magic ark or something as I am young, fit, perfect health, smart and training to be a doctor.

But there's probably millions worthier than me.

It depends on the ratio of how many people would die for my survival. If it's ten people, then I'd probably be worth saving due to my intelligence. If it was 1000 people, odds are there would be more important people to save.

I don't mind making the tea, even when I did the last round, will that do? No? What if I kill that old lady over there, there'll be room for one more then. She looks quite frail and scared, I can take her...

So....I guess you are unsure if you have anything that makes you special? I know I'm not the only one thinking darkly this evening, but c'mon. What makes you...something more? Something worth saving over a tree?

Willing to put your fate in the flip of a coin? You got guts. Hope it lands on the side to save ya.

Come now. Society has no affect on whether you live or die. If you are a damned good artist, then you should be just fine! Besides, I'm pretty sure we got no doctors here, so you would no doubt be picked up!

Nothing at all. I'm intelligent enough to have potential, but humanity would need already-learned skills to survive a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

I'm a very nice person, but again, that's not too important, and it's certainly not a rarity.

Id rather be protecting people with the getaway or whatever but I am decent at repairing firearms so that could be handy and I have good survival and hunting skills and general outdoor skills

Well.....

I'm a fast thinker, and I tend to keep my cool in situations where other's might panic.
I've got energy for ten aswell, so I might be worth keeping around.
On the other hand....maybe not.

Well, the only thing I can really think of that would put me somewhat above others - or make me worth keeping alive; would be that I am a very deep thinker and come up with very helpful advice for those who are feeling down or are depressed. I am also somewhat of a philosopher.

I could be a psychiatrist for the repopulation/survivors - and hell, we would for sure NEED one.

Those millions are not here. It is just you and the others here. Since we don't have any amazing people here yet, you seem to be living just fine!

Hm. For the greater good huh? Willing to die for the sake of the masses. Pretty selfless of you. Very nice....

If your sure you can take her spot.....sure, take her down!

You underestimate sir! Potential can be a nearly limitless thing, so chances are you will be just fine. Half the trick of being important is to think you are important!

Humor is powerful. Make the right jokes, and maybe you'll get out of this alive!

People need defenders, and you seem to fit the bill nicely! You should be fine.

A quick wit can save lives otherwise lost, and don't underestimate having more energy than the guy standing next to ya. Perhaps you will make it.

Philosophy always has its place amongst humanity. And deep thinkers are always helpful when people begin rebuilding. So, now you stand tall amongst the rest of humanity.
