Either warrior or king. Preferably a mounted knight instead of infantry. Commanding instead of being ordered as well.

Interesting question, but I guess if one had the right form. One could just get some made from a blacksmith. Not like he will refuse, you got a Boomstick!!!(Necesarry exclamation mark) after all.

I'd be a knight, and find Castle Anthrax from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Side note: this thread reminds me of that one bit from Frasier: "Where are you getting these from? The Big Book of Medieval Professions?"

Medicine. Well... more specifically, an alchemist. People would come to me and I'd make them swallow strange mixtures in the name of "science".

I'd have to leave after I killed one too many people, which wouldn't be easy.

I'd go law, cause there isn't that much crime that a guard couldn't solve.

STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence.

Hard choice, I'd either be a woodsman (hunter, etc) or a soldier (longbowman).

I would't be a Lord.. for all its "benefits" it was hardly a comfortable life and you spent most of your time worrying about being killed by anyone who wanted your land.

I'd probably be peasant. Just like nearly everyone else.

Chose law though. Because I study law. I'd have reformed law so hard, you can't even imagine.

Blacksmith, definetly. It's one of the professions I'd like to have today, but I'm pretty damn sure it's not worth it.

Thats the thing you only need two maybe three bullets so everyone understands its power, then you just work off peoples fear of it, threatening them. After all how are they to know its limited

Um, the fighter bit wasn't a profession (unless you were a mercenary, in which case you got lots of cash, but everybody pretended they hated you and ordered you to be driven away at the first opportunity to do so). It was a caste thing. You were born a knight and it became your responsibility to do knightly things by right of birth. Same thing with monarch, although the nobles in the caste system usually were able to do other things aside from cut people's heads off by order of the liege lord.
Just, thought I'd point that out.

Anyway, scribe, all the way. I'm a total book nerd and I love writing. Of course, this kind of assumes I was born in the noble caste and thus allowed to have an education, so I guess the above statement doesn't really apply much anyway.

Medieval times sucked.

Thief has been my clear cut choice since I was 12 years old.
It's not even a competition, it stands so far above the rest it's ridiculous.

Although in later years I've realized it's conditional.
If I were to time travel back, and keep my knowledge, then of course I'd use that to invent the bicycle and discover america and all sorts of junk and become king of the world!
But if I were to be born during that time I'd definitely be a thief.

I'd be a smith. I've always have a fascination with metal working and metallurgy.

EDIT: You forgot religious jobs, like monk or priest or what have you!

Well, probably a warrior or a knight or something along the lines of that. People back then didn't live very long so I might as well spend my short amount of time doing something meaningful.

I'd probably be a hunter, im not squeamish about killing animals for food and I know how to make a bow, now so good at aiming the bow but im sure I would learn.
