Team Fortress 2... Especially the British servers.

Oh, and I beat Dark Carnival on Expert. :3
Agreed, I have yet to run into a single tosswad in TF2, and my fellow Brits seem to be a lot chattier as well; you don't get as much banter on the US servers I find.

I like *top blank*, but then again I also like * bottom blank*, but which is better?
There's only one way to find out. FIGHT!

On topic. Both the Left 4 Dead and L4D 2 communities are pretty great on PC, I've made of loads of friends in those games and have yet to find a match with a disruptive player
I think third blank is the best. Second blank is on steroids, the pee-pee-test says so.

I agree on L4D. The worst case I've got so far is those turds booting me out because they can't make a private game.

Team Fortress 2. That's the one and only multiplayer shooter I've found where nobody cares how many points they get; they only care if they win or lose.

Call of Duty and Halo definately has the most erm ... unique community.

But I think that Left 4 Dead 1 or 2 has the best because of how crucial teamwork is in that game.

Team Fortress 2 has my vote. Everyone is there to have fun and make a joke or a dozen.

Glitchy poll is glitchy

Believe it or not the Halo Community is pretty damn good. If you bother to search for a good one not filled with 13 year old twats.
Hmm I have to say the times I hear mature and mannered people on it are very few. But then I do tend to avoid people. There's kids screaming, everyone quitting every match and sending friend requests to me.. and I don't like to plug my mic in unless I'm with mates. So a lost cause really.

I would say Enemy Territory Quake Wars, very small but thats one of the reasons why it is so good, whats left is a bunch of very dedicated and friendly people.

Well, I can't say Burnout Paradise, since that's not a shooter...

I'm gonna have to go with Left 4 Dead, back when I played it last year. I loved a majority of the people I played with. Lots of people talking, cooperating, and it was just fun.

And I have no idea what you guys are saying about TF2. On the 360, too many teams either put too much focus on attacking or defending, not enough people have microphones, hosts abuse the ability to put limits on the number of classes, stuff like that. I love the game to death, but the people that play it... ugh.

And please, oh please, don't bash me for playing on consoles.

Not many shooter communities are really outstanding, but if you get onto a good server in Counter-Strike: Source then you can play with some friendly people. Then again it works that way in all games. CS:S has my vote for the amount of people who were willing to help me learn to play Jailbreak, and other common mods. Plus, even though I'm terrible at it they remained friendly :D

The funny thing is that I'm an American... so I have to sacrifice ping for interesting players. And it is totally worth it.

Nice to read this, actually. Community means a lot to me, and I'm looking for a new FPS to learn :)

Like everyone else has said, Team Fortress 2 seems strangely resistant to the greater internet fuckwad theory. It's even fairly tame on the 360 (comparatively). L4d2 isn't all that bad either but it does get it's share of assholes.

Also, I'm glad to see poll option three coming in strong. It's the clear winner.
