I've always thought the l4d community was pretty good. I think that's owed to the fact that winning requires a bit more teamwork than most other shooters. Yeah teamwork always makes it easier but it would be nigh impossible to win l4d if you did every man for himself, unless you moved fast enough to get to the end of the stage before everyone died. And I'm talking "You got caught by a smoker ? Yay that's a smoker not choking me !" style.

Mostly the No Heroes servers.
Well, I've found that the UK servers tend to be nearly full all the time anyway. It's just that you probably don't notice it because we probably come online at different times.

I personally prefer smaller clan servers, because the players tend to all know each other, rather than on the NMH servers, where it's anyone who wants to play. Stuff like tha Hampshire Heavies and Coal Dust Clan.

Arma 2. Then again, the sim crowds are always the friendliest groups you can get involved with, probably due to the fact that only older gamers tend to play them.

In my opinion it was halo: combat evolved for the PC. I met a lot of online friends through that and the people that could actually play the game never seemed to try and shout at other people for not doing it right. But as that's an old game now with very few people on it, i would have to say TF2 now.

i'd have to say team fortress 2 on the ps3. the fact that not many people have it on ps3 strengthens the whole community thing IMO. it also helps achive the focus on player interactions that valve was going for. not sure if much people would agree, but there is something special when you kick someone's ass into the ground, they ragequit that match and you go to find another game because the game is starting to get boring and then you find him again and repeat the process

I hear the TF2 community is excellent, though I'm not much of a shooter fan myself.

Believe it or not the Halo Community is pretty damn good. If you bother to search for a good one not filled with 13 year old twats.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha. . . *sigh*

I agree with the above statement. Personally I find that the objective hoppers have more friendly people overall. It helps that I am a objective player.

Honestly though TF kind of wins this. It's a very nice community even if I am not a big fan of the game.

Off-Topic: Yah #3 go! It's winning the poll!

I found Valve and the many Source mods to have the best communities. Humurous, usually they know the game revolve around teamwork, and willing to give information to noobies.

Valve games: Counter-Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch

Mods: Insurgency, Zombie Panic! Source, Sourceforts

Obviousley the third blank shooter has the best community, they all love each other and live in peace and harmony among each other.

OT: I actually do not know which game has the best community, they all have their douches and they all have cool people. Some just have more vocal douches.
I agree on this. It's a close race, but the third blank shooter takes the cake in the end.

I mean, they may have some idiots, with "Arhlooiii99" in the front row (Who doesn't hate that guy??) but also nice people --- You know, people like "UIUHhhhh" and "Bonggggggeueueuu". These are genuinely nice people!

I think the War§ow community deserves a mention here. After being used to shunned and spat on by other online communities, I was surprised to find War§ow players who were happy to help me with wall jumping, plasma climbing and various other tosh.

The Team Fortress 2 community is okay, but outside the game the majority whinge about updates, obsess over hats and force their version of the game on other Team Fortress fans, though thankfully this is mostly limited to the Steam forums.

Now that lots of CoD-tards have left BC2, it's starting to get a pretty good community. Battlefield: Vietnam always had a good one, but that game's pretty much dead...

Oh, yes, I'll have to agree with that. I haven't played it apart from the Demo (and that only for a few minutes), but I read an article in PCGamer about this game and the community sounds amazingly dedicated.
If you get a chance, I would recommend playing it (fully patched of course). The campaign is quite decent and difficult at times; with several endings that can be achieved by making different decisions at points throughout the campaign.

The price is going down, and the standalone expansion, Operation Arrowhead, will be out this month. It looks like it will be worth picking up!

Yes, this. There's some great british servers in tf2 (including one from this very site.)
I've only been on the Escapist server once, but it was great. Everyone on there was funny and it is probably one of my favorites already.
