I've played both the trial for World of Warcraft and the trial for EVE online, and i'm REALLY stuck for choice here, and i can only get one since the subscriptions cost a lot.

My question to YOU is, what would you say is the better game & the better value for my money?

WoW because the time I spent on WoW was really fun and I met a lot of awesome people.

Also if it wasn't for WoW I probably wouldn't be a gamer.

I've only played WoW, so I might be a bit biased, but WoW just seems easier to get into. As epic as I've heard EVE is, it looks like it would be really difficult to get in and start having fun. Not that complexity is a bad thing, but a lot of what EVE entails just sounded like work to me.

I would suggest neither.

Not because I dislike them both (which I do, but that's not the point), but because they will get rid of your social life if you already enjoy them.

I would say world of warcraft.
But then again, I've played WoW, and I've only read about Eve, so my opinion is somewhat biased.

If you are going to waste our social life, might as well choose the best game for it: therefore: WoW, since that's 100% of the votes, you know we're right;)

If you get WoW, you might want to wait for Cataclysm, since it supposedly will streamline the leveling system.

I haven't played Eve I'll admit.

My personal preference would be WoW; its FAR more forgiving than EVE, and with the right people it can be really great fun. EVE also takes a helluva lot longer to get to grips with.

WoW, because I'd still be playing it if I hadn't seen everything already. The fun is in exploration and new experiences. When you've done it all before it gets a bit dull, but that will take you ages to do.

I will probably start up again when Cataclysm hits.

I would go with neither, just play a good single player RPG, that way you don't have to constantly pay for it and deal with pricks.

I haven't played WOW but I gotta say EVE is probably the best MMORPG I have played. The only reason I don't play anymore is because I was wasting my life doing nothing but playing that damn game. So maybe for that reason don't play it...

If you're into sci-fi then do it!

How can anyone tell you that here? It would help if you would say something about your preferences. What's your take on fantasy, what's your take on sci-fi, what kind of graphics do you like, what kind of combat do you like, etc etc etc.

Without all that, no-one is able to tell you which game would best suit your needs. So if you really want some help, please provide us with some details.

I find that EVE is a bit dry, but I played WoW for 3 years. It's the best MMO on the market right now.

The best indicator would be what kind of fiction you naturally gravitate towards. Starwars, Startrek, Asimov - anything like that, I'd go with EVE. Conversely, if you like anything with sword fights and/or elves and magic WoW's your poison.

if you have a social life or like to continue it, pick eve. if you're looking to lose it, then WoW.

Wow because I thought EVE sucked, if I wanted to play a space game I want control of my ship not to tell it where to go with commands.

Eve made WoW's most soulless grinding quests look like a pleasure.. at least you got to jam random attack buttons rather than work with a system where you do so much stuff the even semi-casual gamer will be lost in about 10 minutes. WoW can eat your life if you let it but... I'm not sure you dould get even okay at Eve without it completely eating your life.
