I'm from NYC. While we don't have New York accents, we do have the Brooklyn hand motions while talking.

I quite like it here, though. It's like the only place where subways are crowded at 2 in the morning, and surprisingly not by dead drunks or homeless people. Mostly college kids.

Texan. From Dallas area, lived in Lubbock for a while and my heart is in Big Bend. So I could be a stereotypical Texan, on down to being a gun owner and wearing a cowboy hat when I take my plane up for some aerobatics.

I'm from Florida and it's not always the "sunshine state" (it does in fact rain 85% of the time, and right now it's 27 degrees F (-3 degrees C) so it's defnantly not warm all year around on the beach >.<

What else... we have one the highest populations of immigrants from Mexico in the US (notjust Cuba as everyone typically assumes) and there's even a town 30 minutes west of my city made up almost entirely of migrant workers from Mexico (Latino Spanish street signs, stores, churches, schools ect).

Iowa. We have lots of corn and soybeans along with pigs cattle and eggs. Basically an agriculture juggernaut. Not much to look at but the people are nice and the gas is cheap.

As for stereotypes... I grew up in the northern panhadle of Florida along thr gulf coast... there seemed to be A LOT of "rednecks" yet it had the best infastructure and economy compared to where I live now;

Central Florida- a dead zone economically and is made up of mostly retirees and people who moved here from the north east and sometimes Canada thinking it would be a great place to live.

Bad Idea... and the economy has only gotten worse here in the past two years.

I hail from the land of cheese heads.

I'm sorry, but every single state on this thread just got the shit kicked out of it by may state, Washington. Not only do we have the three of the four future overlords of mankind Microsoft, Costco, and Starbucks, the other being Wal-Mart, but we also have great coffee (not just Starbucks), game developers (Valve, Nintendo's software developers and US headquarters, Sucker Punch (the people who made Infamous) Bungie, and I'm sure a few smaller ones), Amazon.com, and we have a fuck ton of unspoiled wilderness.

You need to add Northwest to your poll, we all feel insulted we weren't given our own option.

Delaware. The most boring state in the US. But it's still awesome, if only because we don't have a sales tax. Plus we got the whole "First State" thing goin' on. That's cool.

I'm from Oklahoma. It's like Texas' sidekick. Say what you will about the bible belters, though, they sure know how to cook.
I am from Oklahoma and I can attest to this. I lost weight when I went to college (in Missouri) and gained it back, at one week into winter break..

Also...am I the only Asian in Oklahoma...???

Midwest (I think- it's been disputed before)- Ohio. It's not bad in the city if you can find a suburb of Columbus with a non-retarded education board. I come from the small-town areas, and I don't really care to live there anymore.

Im from Texas and not everyone wears cowboy hats and is a republican.
I'm from Austin, and this is true, only those crazy West Texans are like that.

Basically-
That map spell Houston wrong.

OP: Michigan. Beautiful all year long! Well.. as long as the Great Lakes don't cause freakish weather like snow one day, 90 degree weather the next day. Or tornadoes in freakin' winter! And the wildlife is still running around. I love the state. (not Detroit. we don't consider that part of our state, its more of a landfill to us than a city)
