OK, time for me to see that opened portal to hell and raise it to a gigantic dimensional rift.

One issue should end this...abortion.

Think about it: How many men go and make so many decisions and debates about a process that they will NEVER experience? The whole menstruation thing should be the end-all to it, but some people will want to delve further into it. Which debating is fine, don't get me wrong, but the closest a man has EVER come to having an abortion is over-eating at Thanksgiving dinner and taking a three pound shit afterwords.

Of course, with religion still relevant in most societies, women probably won't see equality until just before we make this planet uninhabitable for most everything.

I think it sucks more to be a woman. All the things society expects from them, Plus menstruation... Though I haven't tried being a woman and like Payne Trayne said:

At least Women are making social progress.

Not only are men expected to be seven different kinds of macho, but very soon we're going to be the sex that's discriminated against, due to more females, who live longer, and like most people think that people today should pay for what their forefathers did.

I'm not an anti-feminist, but for every one Enlightened Despot, there are six brutal Dictators, and brutal Dictators need scapegoats.

Men have it worse. Why have I taken this stance? Well, because women have the final vote. You can fall in love with a woman, and if she doesn't like you well you're SOL with your heart torn to pieces left to start anew while the woman sees it as a minor inconvenience. Experience is a hateful teacher.

This is actually a pretty interesting question, and I would encourage people to look beyond the obvious 'Herp derp, Periods' standpoint. Now I'm sure I'll be in danger of being flamed if I don't categorise what I'm about to say.

I am by no means suggesting that women have it easy, the menstrual cycle, the menopause, childbirth and the unfair treatment of women in the workplace is an abomination and we should all, male and female, work to eradicate gender inequality.

However, to quote Elrond of Rivendell, "The time of Men is at an end." Yes I am quite aware that he was referring to the race, not the sex, but the point remains. As each gender slowly but surely becomes informed that the other might not be completely beyond hope, Men will find that the comfortable top-spot they have held for the best part of all human history might not be quite as secure as once they thought. Men will cease to be the 'superior' sex and will instead be one of two equal sexes.

The men of history were strong, courageous, tenacious and had an unbreakable will to survive despite the odds. We were the hunters, the soldiers, the craftsmen and the half-progenitors of our people and this made us superior. But as the world moves away from barbarism, toward a future geared far more toward the power of the brain, Women will be the superior gender, and Men will be at risk of a dizzying reversal of roles.

And, to be perfectly honest, that sucks, really it does. The only thing worse than having power, wealth, independence, respect and fair treatment withheld, is losing them when they were previously thought so safe. When Britain lost its Empire, the world shook. Slavery and the ill-treatment of the native populations of British colonies notwithstanding, all the fat socialites, all those who had grown wealthy and corrupt on the backs of honest folk found themselves not only broke, but also hated for their part in the atrocities perpetrated by their collective motherland. Call it justice if you will, but think on this.

If women, through their increasing influence on society, their vital role in the human experience, do come to be treated wholly equally to men, then we as a race tread upon a very narrow precipice. We must strive, not only for gender equality, but for lasting gender equality. That will mark an enormous step in human evolution, the ability to avoid the ever-swinging pendulum of discrimination and become socially balanced. If not, then we are in danger of a dystopian future, and alien world where husbands are forced to wait on their wives day and night. And as appealing as that may sound to many women, it will prove, once and for all, that both genders are in-fact equally capable of tyranny, and that women are no better nor worse than men.

firstly i am a man, i would like to make that clear.

i think its harder to be a women all in all, periods and child birth sound like such a burden.

you make, well, interesting points, that give pause for thought, but in the end, yh, harder for women.

for example, being a teenage girl must be hard, yes boys go through something similar, like penis growth, and body hair growth, and voice breaking, but that first period must freak the shit out of you.
and the pressure of losing your virginity that boys put on you is i imagine, horrible.

secondly a women struggle to find a place in society that doesnt involve cooking cleaning and baby care.

thirdly, the female sterotype is a much worse thing to be than a male sterotype.

there are cons for males too, like men have alot stronger hormones than women, which makes us seem more beastly.
also we sweat more, which also makes us more beastly, this is something that annoys me ALOT.
and keeping up the strong alpha male front is tough work, not all men are like that, but rather pretend, because thats what society expects.

im sorry i got a little carried away there

i know a lot of you will start saying women have to give birth to a child, and i realize you have to carry it around for 9 months and not drink alcohol and caffeine, and then there's giving birth. BUT DON'T YOU GET SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF IT? you get a child of your own, someone to love and that will love you in return, to slowly raise and be proud of. and some of you might be thinking: but when the baby is born the women has to handle the baby crying and change diapers and so, and so, and so. well lets make one thing clear: ITS NOT JUST THE WOMEN. in most cases at least. hell, in most cases the women is out supporting the family and the father is the one who gets stuck. there's part of my reason for thinking that. so leave your side of the argument and reason.
EDIT: unless you have actually given birth, you have no right to argue about that subject.
That's not what child birth entails. We don't just walk with a lump in our belly. No, back pain increases tremendously for some. Can't bend over. The baby sometimes kicks too hard and gives stomach pain. You feel FAAATTT! Also, it's damn feet or hands can get pinned against a nerve and make your whole arm go numb.(You have to eat really spicy food to make the baby move off it)
After the birth? They have to sew your up and you can't have sex for 6-8 weeks. Baby weight that you have to then loose. Your breasts have become balloons that randomly lactate and if you don't pump them or feed the baby it hurts like hell. Like you will burst. Once you are done breast feeding, for good, you have to then strap your breasts to your chest to make them go back to your normal size. It's like wearing a sports bra that's too tight.
(No, I haven't been pregnant, but my sister in-law was. She lived with us the whole 9 months and I had to help her with the things that the guys wouldn't, so I figured I could argue some.)

Morning wood is probably just as bad as being turned on as a girl and walking around all... let's just say it's uncomfortable.

Then there's periods, cramps, unrelenting chocolate or salted food cravings. Not to mention you just snap at people. I remember your gym coaches usually not giving a shit.

Also, menopause with hot flashes and more woman rage.

Oh, and what I would give to just whip it out, pee... then shake-shake and zip it up.

But, we do get free drinks bought for us at bars. There's a plus.
well you have a point, but i never meant for it to sound like i am so stupid to think there are no disadvantages for carrying a baby, i am well aware of them all, but still... and by the way having a child is optional.

Are you kidding? Being a man is awesome! AWESOME! I get paid more, I can screw around more and be less scrutinized for it, I can drink more and be less scrutinized for it, I can clean my genitals wayyy easier than women, and I can throw a ball more than 5 feet (oh snap!).

But seriously, if you don't think it's easier being a man you're kidding yourself.

Also, I just farted until it stained my underwear, and it's funny not gross!

Saying bleeding from your body every month means you are in good condition actually means little at all. I can't think off the top of my head of another animal that bleeds profusely other then when they are dying. Although if you're slightly adamant about not bleeding every month I would suggest a DEPO shot. Side effects can be a downer but hey look on the bright side like I have! I don't bleed every month there fore I am much happier because no one enjoys shoving a rod of cotton in them or wearing what feels like a diaper for a week. Oh and I never have to worry about shooting something the size of a turkey out of my body. BONUS!

I will say tho that being a woman is worse. In my case being a female gamer is even lower because people assume you're lying unless you have some sort of voice chat. And even then they assume you're a very large and a bit grimy. They just can't seem to believe that a woman could play as good as themselves. Some people are nice. Most people are the more amusing name for a donkey.

I could list a few other reasons. Mood swings, impossible to find comfy jeans that aren't 3 sizes to big and everyone assumes you drive crazy. I will say that to some extent if you do not keep your appearance OK (AKA shaving and letting oil build up on your fave over a few days) you are pretty much an outcast to the world. Few people would admit they could totally sit next to a girl in booty shorts that hasn't shaved in a month and not mind it. You also can't get away with messy hair at work usually but that's at work and I have longer hair so it actually does look bad, for men it's a daily hairstyle.

Men have some downers but really is the occasional stimulation that bad? Maybe if you are single and forced to take care of it yourself. And you have to be 'manly' to the world like women have to be 'feminine'. Yet I still think women's are a little more annoying. Even my hubby admits, 'Ehh it's not so bad. It's tolerable'.

Ok, most of us know that it's the women who get the short end of the stick. they're taught from birth that they must always look pretty, which can cause self-esteem issues. girls also have to worry about being late bloomers, otherwise they get teased for being flat as a board. atleast boys dont really have any apparent flaws if they're a late bloomer. overall girls are at higher risk of psychological issues because of the BS they go through growing up. bottom line, girls are so much more stressed out while growing up. society teaches them to constantly worry about their self image. guys dont really have to worry too much about how they look or what their friends think of them. guys are just chill like a cucumber. we dont have much worries growing up. and no i dont count morning wood as a problem lol. then on top of all the emotional grief women have, they get childbirth and menstruation to deal with. there is only ONE advantage of being a women (that I can think of). It is super easy for women to pick up a date. guys ooze testosterone, so we're constantly horny, which makes it too easy for women to get a date. unless you're hideous, all you really have to do is show up and look pretty. guys have to go through the exhaustive task of gaining the courage to ask a women out, and then getting rejected many times before we finally find one that likes us. women can also walk into a bar with no money and walk out plastered. must be nice lol. but even with all this, women still have it worse IMO.

It think it's equal. Men have just as many societal pressures as women, they just aren't addressed very often.

And to those who say women go through more pain, getting hit in the balls is the essense of pain; it doesn't sting, it doesn't ache, it just pierces your soul with agony. To put it this way (and I'm being serious here), all you can think about as you writhe on the floor is how awesome it would be if you died. At least that's how it is for me. I hate the double standard about laughing at man pain, but we can't laugh at woman pain (which I don't, for the record). There's nothing funny about pain.

nah, women have it hardest, or at least i assume

the worst thing we have to endure is for it to be SOMETIMES too inappropriate to touch ourselves in public (and some other stuff which doesn't help my point so shall be ignored)

As a guy with a boyfriend, or someone girls seem to trust (which is an insane idea), I've been involved in several conversations with my girl friends discussing all the wonderful things about being women.

And I am utterly terrified.

Christ, I have been mentioing my boyfriend a lot tonight.

You are right. Don't forget lower payments too. Even though I am of the male gender, I can say that It would be terrible to live the female life. I give you all of my support for your future endeavors. As long as you are female of course. If not, I will still give support through thoughts the old physic way.

you make good points. but your missing a few facts.
the pressure of losing virginity doesn't only effect girls, but also boys, and they can either be pressured by other boys or girls.
the stereotypes aren't that bad, no one gives a fuck about them. if you believe them then your brain is small like a Korean penis.( joking. )
your second point i completely disagree with.
its harder for teenage boys than you think, mostly emotionally speaking.
overall you do make good points, but i am still unconvinced.

Hmm, multiple orgasms vs childbirth

Periods yeah, but I've found men suffer as much from them as women via the 2nd hand effects. Especially when they synchronise, damn that's scary. Also menopause but turns out men get that too, it's called Dick Cheney syndrome.

I'm going to say it sucks being a dude simply because the novelty after 20-odd years has finally worn off.

Since Vietnam throughout the western world conscription has become De-facto repealed. Even if the law exists on the books it would be a nightmare to enforce.

If it were to be introduced and applied again you can bet women wouldn't get a free pass this time.
