Right.

17 people in America are assholes. I think it's fair to say that all of America is like that. I mean, obviously, what are there, 18 people in America? DURRRRR.
Once again. I'm talking about the people that think this, NOT the country.
It doesn't matter if it wasn't your intention, this tread has become a lot about ignorant american hate. not surprising considering a previous tread has confirmed that 13% of escapists want america to be invaded, basically saying they would be cheering that americans would be killed indiscriminately in the streets.

Soooo, when will you guys change the national Anthem to the "team America" theme? :D

Seriously, those People are morons. There are about 300000000 People living in America, at least officially and if i want a Picture like this depicting Americans as being barely intelligent enough to breathe i will find People who'll do finely by pure chance. So many People, there are bound to be some Idiots there. I must be a wizard or something; i bet i can make every single country in the World look stupid.

Everyone thinks this is about America bashing, but it's not, he's just saying these idiots are idiots. And I think anyone with the slightest bit of common sense will agree. I'm American, and you can't ignore that fact that America has a bunch of morons in it, but so does every country in the world. Especially Canada! HAVE AT ME! :p

what you just said makes you part of the problem... lumping all of us together because SOME assholes think and behave a certain way. you have the same exact mindset as the people posting all that crap about the earthquake in Japan being payback for the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

those people think of an entire country of people as being one with their government, and somehow being responsible for what that government decided to do almost SEVENTY years ago.

and you, like many others, appear to believe that all Americans share the same thoughts and opinions of every American that happens to be a complete asshole. some jackass KKK member thinks everyone who isnt white is scum, so i must think that too right? i am a fellow American, afterall.

nobody seems to care that America is one of the most generous countries in the world when it comes to natural disasters. even recently, despite this countries' crippling debt, our people and government still donate billions and billions of dollars to Haiti, Japan, and whoever else suffers such tragedies. pretty surprising, coming from a country of bullies, isnt it?

imo, the mindset youve shown here has the same qualities as racism, its just aimed at a different, and more general group of people. but nobody else ever seems to realize this, unfortunately.

oh well

hey! HEY! We aren't all like that. I was praying for japan and donating (well I couldn't donate unfortunately... :/) but if you take a look most of those people are from the south... so just ignore the U.S.'s lower half, inbreeding has taken its toll there :/

And yes, americans suck, blah blah blah...
Wow, way to be an ass to those of us who live in the South. While I won't deny that there's a great many douchebags here...

Jersey Shore isn't filmed in Alabama. I'm fairly certain that Paris Hilton has never even been to Texas. And Westboro Baptist Church is located in Kansas.

There are pieces of human crap all over the world. Don't act like your latitude makes you special. That attitude is just as bad as the Europeans who generalize our entire country.

Oh, and if you feel like I'm jumping down your throat... sorry. Don't take it personally; I'm just fed up with the prevailing notion on this site that "everyone from X part of the world is a terrible person."

I thought Canada freezes their Idiots and ships them over to the U.S. in an Effort to seize control of the Country eventually. We'll see in a few decades :p

What I'm very tired of is the entire world (not just the Escapist readers in general) seeing Americans as lily-white, pick-up driving rednecks. Those people are in the far minority; yet somehow, whenever ANYTHING about America pops up, these are the assholes that are always trotted out for public display. It's getting old, guys, get mature and grow up.

One third of the American population is now comprised of Hispanics. Then you have your African Americans, Asians, etc, etc. I'm in the far minority myself: I'm a Native American. I could go on all morning about what damage has been done in the five hundred years 'white people' have been here; but griping isn't going to change anything, so why bother? Its all in the past, and people need to move forward.

Theres a message here, folks. Move forward, and don't buy into this anti-American hate mongering.
Why are you involving ethnicity in this conversation? There were some black idiots on that pic of the OP as well as white ones whining about Pearl Harbor.

Idiocity has no color.

It all stems from the problem that a lot of people aren't able to realize that 1940's America and 1940's Japan are not the same countries they are today. Very few of the original people from those countries are still alive. When talking about World War II, I shouldn't say "We" bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but rather "1940's Americans" (more specifically the military and government, not the civilian population) bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
It isn't really just that. IIRC In Japan Pearl Harbor is celebrated as a great military victory, the greatest extent of Japanese military progress, it's solo victory over the United States the major World Power, it's not viewed as "It's sad that the Japanese military attacked the US military" since if you think about it, it's not really sad for the sole reason that they're military, if they had attacked Japan I doubt their attack on whatever Pacific base of the Japanese would go down in American history as "sad". So yah I agree, it's about as sad as Germany and Austria losing WWI, as sad as the French losing the Franco-Prussian war, as sad as Brazil gaining independence from Portugal etc. etc. So really it's not that bad, it's not illegal nor a war crime, what is a war crime however is what Japan did in China especially with Korean Comfort women and Rape of Nanjing, both of which Japan doesn't apologize for and teaches in its schools that it wasn't as bad as it really was. I'd actually accept if they were saying "Oh I was sad about the Earthquake in Japan but then I looked at the death tool of the Rape Of Nanking and then saw that Japan continues to refuse to apologize for it and I felt better" even though that's still flawed and offensive logic, it makes more sense then Pearl Harbor.

Yeah, it's pathetic. If you were talking to someone about the Japan earthquake and they said "fuck 'em, they bombed Pearl Harbor 70 years ago" you'd think they were joking.

All in all, people are far too attached to their own country and they think it's the be-all and end-all. To be honest, I think being a man is far more important to me in determining my views on things than where I come from.

It reminds me of a phrase: an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

If that upsets you, I'd recommend staying the fuck away from Sarah Palin's facebook page.

Though I feel the need to be a little honest about some GENERAL, STEREOTYPICAL American attitudes here - I mean, how many of those people were alive during Pearl Harbour?

Also, I really, really doubt any Japanese responded to 9/11 by calling it Hiroshima karma.

I want to kick the people posting those kinds of messages in the bollocks, yes. But I'd also like a shot at the douchebag who decided to caption his picture "Americans: assholes of the world".
And how! As I've already indicated, this is a bit of a touchy subject for me.

The only thing that irritates me more than this attitude? Conspiracy theories. If I ever meet someone who actually thinks the moon landing was faked, it will elicit a rant from me. And if I meet someone who says the goverment orchestrated 9/11? No talking, just a fist in the face. Or maybe a forehead, as I don't want to hurt my hand unnecessarily. There may well be legal penalties, but it will be worth it.

That was really off-topic. Anyway, yeah, those dumbasses in the image need a good nut shot.

I might sound harsh for saying it but I hope everyone who thinks that dies a horrible death, preferably to an earthquake/tsunami for the sake of irony.

What everyone else said.

It's amazing that I can still be shocked by how cruel and ignorant people can be after all these years, but it honestly still gets to me. I just wish these people understood the impact of the nukes we dropped on Japan to their full extent. I also wish that someone would beat the hell out of them, but I don't think that would help matters.

As for 'Mericans being the worst people on earth, I have to mention that we're not. I also have to mention, though, that we have what is possibly the second worse accepted form of expressing patriotism: arrogance and entitlement. The loud shithead minority are VERY loud here.

As a non-american living in America, this has more truth than some might think.
Not all Americans are like this, but I think there are more arrogant idiotic pricks here than there are in other countries, and I've been to many...
It's just that America is pretty big, so percetage wise maybe it's about the same, but lump sum will always be more...
