Hmm. My brother told me that Parasect is awesome the other day. Is he really good or do you just like him enough to have him in your team?

Parasect is an awesome debuffer.
He was the best one to use against an enemy Mewtwo appart from using your own Mewtwo that is if I recall.

Hmm. I may look into that during the 5 hour car journey I have tomorrow since I started a Fire Red game on a 3 hour car journey earlier today (yesterday technically since it's now 1:25am) and am now 1 hour in according to the save.

Nah, Slowbro and Chancey were the best ways to attempt to counter an enemy Mewtwo other than fighting fire with fire. You just had to hope for a freeze/paralysis. Parasect has never been all that great. It was a decent surprise from time to time but Spore was all it ever had going for it. This of course only applies to the overly competitive types and you should absolutely experiment with every pokemon that interests you.

Is there a choice for people that use a team of Hoppips and Magickarps? I love those guys. You should probably also have the Lad/Lass option:
You've just started your pokemon adventure, and you don't really know the differences between pokemon that well, nor the strategies that go with them. You play just to have fun and enjoy your new found friends.

I never evolve my starter Pokemon because I love to see Bulbasaur use Solar Beam!

And I go for Pokemon I like over their power.

Give me a lv70 Psyduck over Mewtwo any day!

In Generation I, it was simply the best one since it possessed one or more moves that were Super Effective vs. MewTwo. By sporing Mewtwo first, one could kill it.

How do you get that Spore off though? It's highly unlikely Mewtwo is going to switch straight into it, and Parasect is just too slow and frail to survive a toe to toe confrontation. Mewtwo's Ice Beam is going to 1-hit kill it every time.

More of a Gym Leader type becuase I usually carry in my party Pokemon of the Same type.

Umbreon, Mightyena, Houndoom, Absol, Weavile, Darkrai.

I chose Ace Trainer, but I'm kind of a mix. When going through the game I usually just use decent pokemon I like the look of (since the storyline game is generally easy enough that I don't need much else) but if I start on some of the side stuff or battling with my friends, I normally make a very well built team, but I'm no where near Pokemaniac status. Worse than some but better than most.
On top of that, I tend to think of stuff I would like to see done, or what team I would like to have in reality, etc, etc. So Ace trainer seemed to be the way to go.

i'm a mix of ace-trainer and super-nerd i used to be able it list the types of all pokemon up to emerald as well i knew what attack were strong/weak against what and would mine ev's for hours (i really hate ev mining but if i don't i always think that i'm not training my pokemon to there full potential/use) as well i have a plan for what moves my pokemon should have i also use pokemon.marriland.com and serebii on a regular basis. i'd also say i'm a bit of a handsome there are pokemon i hunt down just because i like the way they look (alakazam for instance though he's a good special attacker and fairly quick)

Seeing as though I only really catch the pokemon I think look cool I guess I fal into the Handome beauty catagory.

Ace Trainer. I put together a list of 6 pokemon right from the get go, and never catch anything I don't need, meaning that at the end of the main campaign, I have 6 powerhouses of varying types so as to maximize the range of types I can deal supereffective damage to, and I've discovered about 15 different species in total.

I am a super nerd but my preference in pokemon overrides that. My line up is almost always Starter(usually grass), gyrados, dragonite, snorlax, kadabra/alakazam, pidgeot.

I'll admit, I'd train only cute pokemon, and probably be a really easy trainer to beat because of this.

There are some cute strong pokemon.

Yeah I'm out. But Mew is unbelievably cute and strong.
