My first shooter I ever played was Goldeneye on the N64, multiplayer, oh those were the days Then I got an xbox and got Halo. Then I moved to HL2 and didn't look back.

First one is Doom. But my first proper 3d is Goldeneye for the N64.

I was born in '93 but I still played a lot of games before my time, I was privileged.

EDIT: Wow seems like i'm not the only one who started on Goldeneye.

Probably FireWarrior.
That's a cool one. I love the design of the Tau's armor.

OT: The first FPS I played was Marathon on the Mac. Prior to that, I vaguely remember playing Wolfenstein 3D on a demo computer at an office supply store, and there was also Pathways into Darkness, but Marathon was the one that made me take a serious look at the genre. I hit my point of saturation with the whole shebang around the time Doom came out for the N64. After that, the only FPS I really liked was Maken X on the Dreamcast (and that's not even really a shooter). Firewarrior was fun, Killzone was interesting, Halo 2 was well-made enough, but ultimately I'm still bored with the FPS.

I voted for Goldeneye but then I realized that I actually played Doom before it, but what I really remember is Goldeneye, I still love that game and STILL hate the ending of that damn train level.

That entire Die-Hard trilogy was gold.

Either way, late 90s. GoldenEye, one of the first games to incorporate the zoomable sniper rifle into FPS. 1997 was a great year.

Blood.

Nobody probably remembers it, it's from 1997. So I guess that it was my first FPS game.

Eeeuuuughh. Fuck you, Ourumov, you cheap bastard.

Either way, I had played enough PC FPS back in the day, but never owned them.

Well I'd played a couple of FPS's on a pc which I didn't like and kept me off the genre for a while until I got an x-box and halo which I loved.

My first FPS was Doom, and then I kind of forgot about FPSs until the advent of Halo and Half-Life, since I never really got into the genre, although I did enjoy Doom. Still, I find myself paying more and more attention to FPSs these days, and enjoying them more than I used to.
