as we enter a new year and new decade, we will be introduced to new wonderful things, as the entertainment industry advances in many ways.

so, what was good about the 2000s in terms of the entertainment industry?

games, films, music, tv (depends on the country), anything... your call, your opinion...

and obviously, state why!

same furburt, stupidity to me was shown the best through the reality tv shows, as same with just not watching tv at all. for me, the 2000s will be the decade that put me off tv all together...

You mean other than NINE EFFIN' ELEVEN? And, you know, the bunch of wars it triggered?

Sheesh, that's some serious lack of perspective right there.

I wanted to say these ones, but the thread is about what advancement in entertainment industry will be remembered.

And i say it will be videogames. Gaming went from a geek hobby to a full-blown industry with budgets higher than in Hollywood.

all we got from the 2000s was fancy phones that do more than needed and TV that is "more real than reality"

-9/11 (one of the worst events in living memory)
-Reality TV (the age of watching morons for entertainment)
-the first Black American President (whatever you might think of him a huge moment in history)
-Nintendo Wii (the first time gaming has become mainstream)
-Texting (only really started at the beginning of the decade)
-Google (only turned up at the beginning of the decade would you believe)

That's my predictions.

The beijing olympics was pretty special. (i was there :p) erm we did go out with a bang movie wise with avatar. the games industry of course entered the next gen era which is quite a leap. i mean look at the console n games we had in 2000 compared to now. 1 decade and yet such a massive leap. But i think tht's true looking at anything for example phones or cars. the 00s was a good decade in which we as a race advanced alot. It'll interestin to look back in another 10 years n see whats happened.

Ps. this year the UN has made "the year of biodiversity". Am i they only person who doesnt like the UN telling me what year it is? or the only person who doesnt really give a toss? lol

you know that there wasn't that many deaths right? only like 9237 includes Iraq Afghanistan and 9-11 there as in Hiroshima and Nagasaki there where an estimated 225,000 deaths in like a few months. so let that set in before anyone gets but hurt about 9-11 again.

I chose "Something else", but I do know what it is.

the 2000s will be remembered as the beginning of the end. America will fall soon, and the rest of the world will not be far behind. Total anarchy, the world will go to shit, and we will all be absolutely f***ed. Enjoy the 2010s while they last, because it wont last...

I'd remember it for ISW, the Escapist, and 9/11 and all along with that (Terrorism).
And anime. Feth, can't forget that.
