As said before, best power has to be the manipulation of matter. If you became skilled enough, you could rewire your brain so you have a photographic memory, change shape, fly, create fire/ice/whatever, make gold out of any material...If it were long-range as well, you could literally have any power you want. Want to travel in space? Reconfigure your body to not need oxygen or air pressure (or make an air bubble around you), then bend the universe so you don't have to move to travel (as in warp drive). Want to be the richest man on earth? Simply force the ground on your property to reconfigure itself to gemstone deposits or gold veins or something else of value, then open a mining operation. Want a fresh start? Change shape, generate some money in your pocket, and make yourself a new car, and you're set. Don't want to age? Force your body to generate new cells at the same rate as a young adult for as long as you like, and raise your body's durability level by accelerating the rate whenever you are injured to avoid scar tissue. Want to play around with time? Bend space-time to your will. Of course, mastery of all this might take centuries...then again, if the first thing you learned to control was your body, you'd have all the time you want. Oh yeah, and you could 'read' someone else's genetic patterns to gain their abilities. I'm lookin' at you, charisma guy!
