Poll: What Would You Do If You Found a Death Note?

i recently read a manga called Death Note, unfortunately i found it to be sinfully boring but it raised an interesting question...

a death note is a book belonging to a Shinigami (japanese monsters behaving similarly to the grip reaper), anyone who's name is written in the book will die soon after, unless a specific time or cause of death is specified, in the manga the main character used it to purge the world of evil, but i was lead to wonder, how would my fellow escapists make use of a death note?

edit: do you think we could ease up on the "whining" (for want of a less appropriate word) about using the search bar? the last death note thread was in december i'm fairly sure that those threads are all dead now, and that the mods give me the thumbs up

Oh yay, a Deathnote thread. I answer the same as always, don't use it. Since its existence basically confirms the afterlife, I won't risk my chances of not going to Heaven, after all, it sounds like a nice place and using the Deathnote once means never go to Heaven or Hell.

Never read or watched it, so forgive me if this is against the rules.

I would put it in a steel box and lock it, and then another, and lock it. Then I would dig a deep hole in my backyard, fill it a third of the way with cement, place the box in it, and fill the another third with cement. Then I would bury the rest of the way with dirt, and plant several trees around that area. No way in hell am I using it, or letting anyone else use it.

-EDIT- Now I am wondering if I can actually do that. Can I?

Where is that rule stated? I saw the anime, and I've seen the light novels (including the one that has a list of all the rules on one of the covers or something), and in none of those do I recall seeing a rule saying it has to be used once found. That would be a bit crap, after all...

Anyway, I'd use it to purge the world of evil, except I'd be better than Light. As soon as someone like L turns up, I'd stop using it completely and hide it. With a better trap than Light uses in the anime. Then I'd spend time covertly trying to find out L's full name (or the full name of his real-world counterpart). And only then, when I've managed to kill L (or his counterpart) using it, would I carry on with the purging of the world's evils. See, that's why he fails in the end anyway. Because he can't control himself, and thinks he's better than everyone. He may be smart, but his arrogance and impatience are his downfall...
